I found Dr. Lina Kim as my dentist by accident when I moved to Magnolia at least 7 years ago. She is a great dentist. Very meticulous, always smiling, available, very professional, accommodating and knows exactly with what she is doing. Her staff are always professional and very good with what they do. I would not want another dentist as long as I live here in Seattle. Thanks Dr. Kim for your great work on my teeth.

Visited several times for my appointments and has never disappointed me. One time, I accidentally made an appointment too soon for my quarterly visit such that my insurance wouldn't cover it. However, they called me back to tell my insurance coverage and quickly make the changes that I would be satisfied.

When I set up the appointment, I let the receptionist know that increasing pain made my appointment an emergent issue, and, at the appointment, I let each of the team members interacting with me know that my latest otc painkiller dose was wearing off. I was not asked when my last otc dose was, and I was not offered any pain killer or any laughing gas, although they photographed all my teeth and prodded all my gums before even discussing treatment of the painful tooth. I opted to extract the painful tooth rather than have a root canal. I was not offered general anesthetic, pain killers, or laughing gas. The local anesthetic injections were so painful that I was crying out, causing my companion in the waiting room great concern, but after the 4th injection, the extraction proceeded at a tolerable pain level. Immediately after the procedure, the doctor noted that there was a pus pocket under the tooth, but said I should expect to be in less pain than I came in with when the local anesthetic wore off. I stated that it was already wearing off, and I was already in a lot of pain and requested prescription strength pain pills. The doc said I wouldn't need them. I repeated my concern to the receptionist who dismissively suggested that I take some Midol. I've since learned that, although the office staff acted like I was a wimp or a drug seeker, most folks need prescription pain pills after an abcess causes the need for an extraction. I called into the dental office an hour after my procedure and insisted that I needed a prescription painkiller. The office did call in a pain prescription, though they didn't call back to confirm. I only learned that the prescription had been called in another two hours later, when the pharmacy called to let me know the prescription was ready for pickup. By an hour after the procedure, I was starting to go into shock, which, I guess is not uncommon when an abcess is involved, but I didn't know that at the time, and had not been warned of this potential reaction. The office never called to check on my recovery. The day after the procedure, I discovered hives along my cheek and gumline indicating that a latex tool or covering had been used, although I noted a latex allergy on my intake form, and, although the hives subsided, my cheek remained swollen. Just over a week after the extraction, the swelling in my cheek increased and became more painful and I realized that it was still swollen because the abcess that was behind the extracted tooth has not been treated...it was a very gross discovery! I ended up going to urgent care to get the antibiotics that a good dentist would have prescribed to make sure the abcess that caused the need for tooth extraction didn't cause further health problems. If you care about your health, avoid this dental office.

BEWARE: THEY FILLED THE WRONG TEETH! They drilled 2 teeth that were filled 2 months prior and they billed me for this unprofessional mistake! I found out when my insurance said they would not pay for teeth to be filled twice within the same year. After Dr. Kim made this horrible mistake, they now want me to pay the money that the insurance won’t cover. I already paid my portion in their office and I paid to have the cavities filled the first time! When I asked Dr. Kim’s office, their excuse was that the cavities had to be redone. They did not tell me beforehand and did the work without my approval, going against the quote they gave me before having any work done! I have called several times and Dr. Kim refuses to speak to me directly which I find very disrespectful.
