Absolutely amazing restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Great food with an attentive (but not irritating) staff. A true hidden gem that I gladly recommend to everyone.

I thought this place was pretty cool. Lots of old time charm, history, and antiques. The couple that runs it are cordial but stayed out of the way. Food was awesome! Maybe a little pricey, $20 to $30 entrees, but well worth it.

Great meal. Comfortable clean room at a great price (very comfortable mattress and BIG towels). For those who left less that good reviews about the food--ribeye steaks HAVE a bit of gristle: that's how they are. Somebody commented about "watery" beans--I live in the Southwest and that's how pintos are often prepared. Prices?--Steak, salad w/deviled egg and pine nuts, beans, & a vegetable/potato for one price. I had the "small" steak which was more than adequate for me after the other food and a beer or two. They do have beer and wine. BTW--no internet, no TV in the room--perfect. Entrance is a bit tricky to find, but look for the huge log entrance posts. You need to go!

Step into this quaint old time setting. Tables dressed with stitched linens. Rooms just above dinning area ready for the traveler. Get ready for a great meal with all the special trimming. Sweet cook and wait staff. From the Illinois passers-by.
