This could be a pleasant experience if they would do something about the mud. A little gravel would go a long way. Instead, we had to purchase straw just to not sink knee deep in mud when we stepped out the door. And we had 3 campers here. All with the same problem.

Okay place to stay. Roads have a lot of pot holes. Many sites are full of standing water when it rains. Many campers are allowed to keep a lot of junk and toys outside which is not pleasant to look at and makes the place look trashy and cheap. Wish they enforced the rules about keeping your area clean. Near the front is an old house and around it looks like a scrap yard, which is not pleasant to look at and can be an attractive nuisance for kids. The putt-putt is antiquated and needs some TLC. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Overall the place needs to be updated and better maintained for the price that they charge.

We had a great stay in the efficiency cabins at Little Farm on the River. I was hesitant based on the reviews but knew this establishment was under new ownership this summer and decided to give it a try. I am very glad we gave this place a try. Upon arrival, the cabins were clean. 2 out of the 3 efficiency cabins were beside the pond and one large cabin located next to it. Our visit was during the week but it was very quiet and the people whom were talked to were very pleasant. Amenities: *Clean, Olympic-sized Pool *Camp Store *Club House *Pond for fishing (and releasing) *Miniature Golf *Basketball Court Efficiency Cabins Included: *Running Water *Toilet & Shower in the Bathroom *Futon Bed *Set of Bunk Beds *Microwave *Refrigerator *Toaster *Dishes *Small Television *Towels for the Bathroom & Wash Towels *Bed Linens *Small, outdoor charcoal grill *Picnic Tables *Small fire ring made of rock at each site. Recommendations of What to Bring: *Pillow (pillows are supplied but own pillow for comfort) *Hand Soap *Outdoor Table Cloth *Shower Supplies (soaps) *Bug Spray & Fly Swatter Advantages: *Clean, Outdoor Swimming Pool (Unlike previous reviews, the pool was very clean except for a corner of one step. *Grounds keepers pick up garage left beside the roadways. *Friendly staff *No parking permits *Small playgrounds Disadvantages: *Limited hours for camp store (weekdays) *Club House closed when store closes due to vandalism at the camp *Bunk Bed mattresses are very thin. Bottom Line: I would recommend Little Farm on the River to anyone who is looking to spend a few days camping. RV Rentals and personal RVs/Campers are welcome at the campground. The owners of the campground are working to fix it up. They still have some work to do but are making progress based on other reviews I have read.

For Amazon workers this campground is quite good in comparison to the others. Little Farm on the River offers, cheap laundry, clean hot showers, mail pick-up, garbage pick-up, mostly spacious sites, water/electric/sewer hookups, prompt maintenance, friendly staff, nice area to walk to the Ohio river, a couple minutes to nearby stores, fishing pond, pool, game room, etc. Roads need work, but a fix is rumored. Wi-Fi did not work for me. Verizon 4G LTE is very strong and works very well for internet connection or as a hotspot. Someone told me they were having issues, however, with AT&T. *the fine print* Roads consist of clay like mud that will bury a boot, along with several deep rain filled potholes. Attempts have been made to smooth the campground roads, but the weather has been uncooperative. Possible major fix for the roads in Spring, per rumors. Winter was interesting, as some of the power/water pedestals froze and burst; while some pedestals had heating elements and others did not. Most of the sites are spaced ok apart, but a few are really crammed in there. People seem friendly enough...but each area's friendliness level is relevant to ones experiences with other areas of the country. Rising Sun is just 1 to 2 miles away while Walmart and other big-box stores are about 6 to 8 miles up the Ohio river. If you are into hiking or biking, forget about it as there are no free nearby state parks. Closets Indiana state park is 30 to 45 mins away and requires an entrance fee of $9. A small little paved trail does exist within the confines of a public park behind the Rising Sun public schools. The campground does have a lot of room for walks down to the river, but this gets somewhat boring after a while. Amenities-3 washers/ 3dryers at 1.75/load. Mail at this time is allowed to be shipped to the campstore office. Shower house is kept clean enough, but some of the lights are out and the fans don't work. Garbage is collected daily at each site; however, to the overt irritation of some that pick it up. Propane is steep here, and I'm sure there are better deals down the road.

So much to offer, to do as well as location into KY or Ohio allows you to be tucked away but close to the big cities.
