My dad was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer several years ago and recently (mothers day) we were all together as a family just so happy and I realized that my dad was alive thanks to Littleton Radiation Oncology. My dad received a treatment that only took 1 day and I am happy to say with in a few weeks of the treatment he was back to hiking and biking. He has always been an outdoor enthusiast. He reminded us he might not be here today if it were not for Dr. Schreiber. I just wanted to take a moment and thank the entire staff at Littleton Radiation Oncology for treating my dad - the entire staff was amazing.

My dad was diagnosed with prostrate cancer. He has been with Dr. Tippin doing the entire healing processing. What a genuine doctor and man. The family has been very fortune to have been referred to the Littleton Radiation Oncology Center. The attention that he has received during this process from the staff at the surgery center, to the nursers and Dr. Tippin has been amazing. I would highly recommend them all to you. Thanks to everyone for all of your assistance. It has been greatly appreciated.

At 73 I wasn't panicked by prostate cancer but I wasn't pleased either. I live in the Rockies (near Aspen) and decided to get my biopsy at UCLA. They found the cancer and recommended high dose rate brachytherapy. They did not consider me a candidate for low dose rate brachytherapy because my prostate was too large. Local specialists did not have any type of brachytherapy available and offered External beam IMRT instead. They opined that it would be equally effective and might be less uncomfortable than UCLA's plan, but it would take almost 9 weeks of daily treatments. I opted for UCLA's suggestion, but looked for a capable facility in Denver, because I did not relish the thought of several more flights to and from LA, especially right after surgeries that would likely leave me with considerable short term urinary and bowel discomfort. Google pointed me to Dr. Schreiber, and my local urologist knew him pretty well and recommended him as well. I made an appointment a week away and sent him my records. Two days later he called me personally and said he disagreed with all the other doctors (his words). He had low dose, and high dose treatment available, as well as IMRT, but he believed my cancer was not advanced enough for high dose rate seeds and that he could treat me with low dose rate/high energy (cesium) seeds if I would agree to a 4 month course of Lupron to shrink my prostate gland. After consulting him in person I decided chance my future on his plan. That was 6 months ago. (So far, so good.) Dr. Schreiber and all of his staff have been responsive, informal and yet professional in every way. What I really liked was that he isn't afraid to disagree with other doctors. (He even said that he thinks UCLA very often over-treats people.) When I first consulted Dr. Scheiber, there was not yet peer reviewed 5 year outcome data on Cesium131 treatment but he to be seemed an innovator who, after fully informing me of the relevant facts, was willing to base treatment on his clinical judgement. That judgement has since proved correct. A peer reviewed study on these seeds was published about a month after he recommended them for my condition.) I consider his treatment was experimental, but it was certainly innovative. My local doctors, 3 fine gentlemen were not even aware that such treatment was available nearby. UCLA never mentioned Cesium131 as a possibility. Will I remain free of this cancer? I wish I knew. But in the meantime, I couldn't be more please by Dr. Schreiber's attitude, practices, and medical courage. If you want cancer treatment that's tried and true, don't bother travelling to Littleton - it's available there, but why bother? Just go to your local hospital clinic. If you want to try something medically sound that's a little newer, a little more creative and individualized to your personal condition travelling to Littleton Radiation Oncology is well worth the trip.

I felt fine. So I was stunned when I got a prostate cancer diagnosis at my annual physical. I was not ready for this, and I did not know how to handle it. But I was lucky that Dr Tippin, and subsequently Dr Schreiber, were the ones who helped me through the process. They were always thoughful and thorough. At one appointment, I ran into a gentleman who was traveling all the way from Fort Collins for treatment. I asked him why he was not going somewhere more convenient for him. His reply: "Why would I want to see anyone but the best?" He was right. Both doctors and their entire supporting staff are indeed the best. Oh, and by the way - - Thank You.

Until I turned 65, I could count on one hand the number of times I've been to a doctor. Then....When I turned 68 I found out I had prostate cancer. Due to my lack of medical experience, I thought the end was near. Then I met Dr. Schreiber and his staff. They made me feel very comfortable and we went ahead with the Radiation Seeding in November, 2011. Today, I am 2 years cancer free and I'm still being treated just like the first visit. When I go to see Dr. Schreiber, I don't feel like I'm making his car payment. I believe he cares deeply about every one of his patients. I have mentioned his name and what he does to several of my customers who are about to undergo cancer treatment. I'm not the type of person who would do that sort of thing. Thank you again, The staff at Radiation Oncology and Dr. Schreiber.
