Story

Living Word is a confessional Lutheran congregation observing the Historic Liturgy in Mission Viejo. We are a Church that transcends culture, ethnic, generation, and class barriers and unites all in the saving blood of Christ.

Since July of 2011, Living Word has been served by Pastor David Frey. He is a devout student of Scripture who loves to share the timeless truths of the Word in preaching or teaching. He is also a student of history and strives to maintain the rich doctrinal and liturgical heritage of the Lutheran Church as he directs all forward to the Coming of our Lord.

I just downloaded the sermon of 1/17/16 to my smartphone. Now I can play it again anytime. Pastor Frey records and posts his sermons on the church’s website. The Transfiguration Sermon really touched me. He talks about billions of Galaxies, Buddha, and of course Jesus. We are privileged to have such a pastor. He is brilliant and faithful to the Word.

Living Word Lutheran Church has the best school and teaches the gospel clearly; easy to understand. It's served by a Pastor that's a tremedously effective teacher of God's word.
