I've lived in 6 different apartments over the last two years and The Lofts at the Lyric was by far the best. The price, location and management can't be beat. It's the best location in blacksburg near all the bars/restaurants and in perfect location to tailgate Tech games. I would suggest this apartment to anyone looking for a little more class. The shower/sauna can't be beat. I also have a dog, and he loved it there. Everyone was friendly and there's parks nearby for him to run in. Like I said, it's the best place in Blacksburg.

Hands down the best place to live in Blacksburg. Beautiful apartments, unparalled location, and amenities galore. I have lived at other off-campus apartments and truly, nothing compares to the quality apartments and location of the lofts. If you are considering living here, absolutely do it, you will not regret your decision. Bill Bason, the landlord lives right down the hall and is only a phone call or knock away when you need anything. This is yet another detail that makes living at the Lofts an amazing experience.

I've lived Blacksburg for about eight years and, in that time, have lived in several apartments aimed primarily at students.  A common thread among them was an understandable emphasis on price and a resulting lack of quality.  Even "graduate and professional" apartments seemed shoddily constructed and lacked any really attractive features.  About a year ago, I took a look at the Lofts and was immediately impressed by the unparalleled (by anything in Blacksburg, at least) quality and amenities.  I signed a lease pretty promptly and have been very happy with my decision.  The apartment and the location are both excellent.  Also worth noting is that the owners employ a liaison (who lives in the building) to assist residents with any issues they have.  This is very helpful, especially since it effectively insulates the residents from the property managers (TNT).  I have no gripe with TNT specifically, but it's my experience that most management companies in this town tend to treat the tenants like children (of course, many deserve it).  It's nice dealing with someone who's actually helpful.

In short, nothing in Blacksburg really compares to this place.  There are a few "luxury" apartments in the area, but they lack the character and quality of the Lofts.

Hmmmmm I don't know where to start about the Lofts at the Lyric.  It is the most extraordinary place I have ever lived in Blacksburg.  The apartments are so elegant and luxurious I feel as though I am in a big city.  I mean even the décor in the building's hallways is beautiful.  The kitchen is particularly beautiful with nice luxury appliances and the bathroom was a real treat with a shower that doubled as my own private sauna!  The location is wonderful as it is right down-town and easily accessible to everything.  The management is top notch as they have bent over backwards to accommodate anything I needed.  I would absolutely recommend this apartment complex to anyone who would enjoy a little luxury in the heart of Blacksburg.

My roommate and I were lucky enough to have had the chance to live at Lofts at the Lyric during my last semester at VT. Coming from the 'standard' qualities of living that student-oriented apartments in Blacksburg had to offer, Lofts at the Lyric exceeded my expectations on what Blacksburg living could deliver.

Our apartment at Lofts at the Lyric was situated right on top of Moe's restaurant, right in the heart of downtown Blacksburg. There were limitless amenities included in the rent ranging from a secured entrance system to the elevator to the steam saunas in the shower. The other apartment features such as wooden floors, roof skylights, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and high exposed ceilings were also to be enjoyed from a luxury complex such as this.

I feel that greater than any amenity was the level of personal service we received from Lofts at the Lyric. From the first tour of the complex until the day we moved out, we were met with outstanding in-house service, response time, and hospitality. The manager of the complex is on site 24-7, and we enjoyed the fact that we had to come only to one person to get any inquiry resolved, whether it be turning in the rent or requesting for maintenance. I simply cannot stress how personal the level of service is at Lofts at the Lyric. 

Overall, my experience at the Lofts was something that had far astounded me, not knowing such a living experience could be offered to a student at Virginia Tech. As modest as the main entrance on College Avenue seems, you'll be surprised to see what's behind that front door and up the elevator. I've gotten to meet everyone that lived in the complex and certainly made a few friends during my time there. In my eyes, considering my stay there, Lofts at the Lyric is certainly Blacksburg's best kept secret.
