Lisa Patton was AMAZING in helping my husband and I find our first home. She was very knowledgeable about the process, the Woodbridge/Lake Ridge area, and always readily available. My experience with Matthew Huggins was a very enjoyable one! My soon to be husband was oversees in the military and communication was difficult since we could only communicate through email. When I called on a place I was interested in a wonderful agent called me back ( Matthew). I was pretty stressed at the time trying to plan a wedding and trying to find a place to move to after the wedding in a new area. Matt was extremely helpful in helping me out right away since I was only in the area for the day to explore. He gathered properties for me to look at and continued to be my eyes and ears for the next month as I went back home. Matt worked patiently in our complicated means of communication and found the perfect place for my husband and I. He listened well to all our wishes in a house and took the time to find the right place that was best for us. Matt even now is helping me find a job! He defiantly had our best interest in mind! Matt works hard, is kind, and is trust worthy! Thank you for being an incredible realtor and a person of incredible character!

Cindy and Her team at Long & Foster are great they really know the market and give honest advice that helped to set our expectations. Consequently we sold our home within 2 weeks of listing it!!

This is a review of Duane Wright, working out of the Potomac Mills location of Long and Foster Real Estate, as a landlord and property manager, not as a real estate agent. My relationship with Duane was only as a tenant at one of his personal properties. However, generally, it is a safe assumption that behaviors in one professional arena translate to another. That said, my experiences with Duane Wright were terrible. The day we took possession of the rental house, Duane pressured us to complete the move-in survey with him, on that first day. I held out and annotated many many problems which I reported to Duane, and few of which were addressed. The most egregious and ongoing problem was that the HVAC unit in the house simply does not cool. We moved in in August and during our first week, the upstairs unit could not keep the temperature below 78 degrees. I told Duane about it, and he directed me to the “home warrantee.” So I contacted the company, paid an $80 service fee (during our first week of moving in) and the technicians basically said that the house was so poorly insulated that during the day, the upstairs was just going to be hot. Over the course of our lease, we would have the HVAC repair technicians out two more times (at $80 per service call) and the unit still did not function properly. When I mentioned this to Duane at our move-out inspection, he told me (and this is almost a direct quote) “It’s only hot up here because you had the doors open all day yesterday moving your stuff.” That sort of ridiculousness is what you will have to put up with in dealing with Duane. In addition to the seemingly never-ending problems with the house, Duane himself is intensely disagreeable. Obviously, this is only my personal opinion, but was very put-off by the way he spoke to his wife during our move-in brief. I never saw or had contact with his wife again, but I came away understanding that there was something problematic with Duane. Further, it seems like Duane went through and charged us for every problem in the house that I failed to annotate. He also meticulously documented each expense, in part I imagine, because he expects me to take him to small-claims court. Although I know I should, I have no intention of doing that. By the time I paid air fare, hotel, and rental car fees to show up in a Virginia court, it just would not be worth the money I would almost certainly get back. I would love to file a BBB complaint, but Duane is just an individual agent at the poorly reviewed Potomac Mills location of Long and Foster Realtors, which is not even listed in the BBB database. I have contacted the Long and Foster headquarters to complain about Duane but received no response. I guess it is possible that this is a one-time incident with Duane, or that there were personal issues that precipitated his bizarre behavior. We continue to be completely befuddled. The bottom line on Duane Wright is that although he has done little that is technically outside the terms of our lease, he is basically unscrupulous and unpleasant. There are plenty of great real estate agents and rental properties in Prince William County. Save yourself some trouble and find another one.
