Story

The Natick Racquet club originally opened in 1970, and in 1985 became part of the Longfellow Clubs. The adult program includes numerous women's league teams, men's drills, adult clinics, singles strategy clinics, cardio tennis and private lesson opportunities for all levels.

The Natick Racquet Club Junior Development Program is divided into four divisions: Zip 1,2, Zip 3, JEP and NETT (Natick Elite Tournament Team). For a description of each program please see our website www.longfellowclubs.com

Between the regular Junior Program and the New England Academy of Tennis that is located at NRC, we have 12-15 part time and full time tennis professionals on staff.

We hope, after checking out this FB page, you see how much fun we have together as a staff as well as on court with your children. We hope to get your kids on the court one day soon!

I am writing this brief review as a visiting guest of the Natick Racquet Club. I travel here to play tennis, or to bring my kids to play tennis. The Natick Racquet Club is a clean, welcoming, nice place to visit to play competitive tennis. There are 5 indoor courts in the main building. There are four additional courts in the bubble. All the courts are in very good condition with good lighting and divider nets. The courts are pretty well temperature controlled. I have been there on summer days when the lobby is very, very hot. I have been there on winter days when it is cold outside but the courts are warm enough to play in shorts and a tank top. Most days the temperature in the lobby and on court is a good, comfortable temperature. There is enough parking, usually right in front of the building. If it is a very busy event, you might have to park nearby in the surrounding suburban office park type setting. The overall area is nice and there are endless places to eat in the Natick area and surrounding towns. There is a vending machine inside the NRC, which has some healthy options. There is a water dispenser. There is no cafe or restaurant but there is a very small kitchen with a sink and microwave. Downstairs there are small but adequate locker rooms and a little warm up area, with stretching mat and a few cardio machines. The staff always seem to be on their game, intelligent and helpful. Also, I have always had positive encounters with the local players here. Overall, I feel NRC is an excellent tennis center with well trained players. The most important thing to know is whether you need to go to the actual Natick Racquet Club, or the sister club - the Longfellow Club in Wayland. Often the tennis matches or tournaments for these places are moved as needed. As a visiting guest, it is important to double check so that we go to the right location. There is also a fitness center at Natick called Longfellow Fitness Center, but it is not directly accessible from the courts area, or to visiting tennis competitors. It is in a separated building for fitness members, or joint members. It is important to realize this Longfellow Fitness Center is not the same as the Longfellow Club in Wayland, which is 18 minutes away with a different fitness center and different tennis courts.
