About

At Los Cuates, we’re not one of those restaurants that gauges the quality of food by its hotness. For over 35 years, we’ve been serving New Mexican cuisine

Come in to one of our four Albuquerque locations and try our chips and salsa – we guarantee you’ve never tried salsa like this.
Enjoy our hacienda-style ambiance while savoring our menu of always-fresh authentic New Mexico classics. Our signature dish is the chile relleno. Each carefully selected Anaheim chile pepper is peeled, stuffed and roasted daily in our kitchen. And nobody can compete with our batter, not too doughy and never greasy. We should warn you, they’re very addicting.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try one of our award-winning special features that take New Mexican food to new frontiers. Some of our chef’s recent concoctions include southwestern calamari and a seafood enchilada with spinach cream sauce. Whether you’re in the mood for something traditional or experimental, at Los Cuates there’s something for everyone.
We’re a local favorite not just because of our tasty food, but the great value we offer. Weighing-in at 6 oz, our tamale is the biggest in town. Our rib eye with enchilada special is loved for a reason, while our taco, enchilada, relleno and tamale combo platter is only $12.95. We invite you to compare, and then have a seat and enjoy the best deal in Albuquerque. No matter what you try, you’ll end up plenty full and satisfied: all of our entrees come with a chips & salsa and sopaipillas. No room for dessert…ask for extra forks and split one.
If your lunch or evening calls for a drink, you’ll love our bar. We’ve got the best margaritas in town. Try our unique house bend or choose from one of the many margarita flavors we serve. If you prefer your tequila straight up, ask about our top shelf liquor specials. We usually have shots of Patron, Jimador, Herradura or other premium brands for as little as $6.95.
Our food is so good, you’ll want us to cater your big event. We offer big portions at a great price and, best of all, we let you create your own menu. Most other restaurants have only very limited catering options but not us. We’ll let you customize your order and give you a lot of bang for your buck.
We’re proudly locally owned since 1980. Many other restaurants and national chain eateries have come and gone in that time, and we’re still one of Albuquerque’s favorite places to eat. Come in and find out why.

The food was great! Even better than the food was the service. Joe was our server and he kept us full of tea, water, and the countless other things we asked for. I recommend Los Cuates, but make sure it's on a day Joe is bartending and serving. Sit at the bar area and you'll leave the restaurant happy, full and feeling like you were treated like royalty!

Los Cuates always consistently good and they run good specials on their Margaritas. The sopas at Lomas location are nice and large. The size of a pillow. We were there celebrating sister's birthday. We have been going there for years and the employees have always been super nice, particularly at the Lomas.

This restaurant is usually busy and still being seated promptly has never been a problem. We dine in the bar, which is smaller and less noisy than the dining rooms, also, we really like the servers in the bar. The portions are generous and the food tasty. Sometimes we go just for appetizers and a margarita. While hard to pick a favorite, Nicole is ours.

One problem after another with our last visit. Came with our motorcycle ministry 23 people. One of the managers was overheard by myself saying "oh great look what just came in." We had three separate checks for a group that large. Normally not a problem anywhere else. I was given my check which was 87 dollars give or take. When the waitress brought back my card and receipt, 169 dollars was charged to my card. The waitress said "oh the manager rang you up, it's his screw up " That "screw up" took five days to be credited to my account. I ordered a cheese burger and fries, I posted a pic of what I was brought.

Los Cuates has gone way down hill. It used to be of our go-to places for years, but the prices keep going (way) up while both the quality and quantity have gone down. We wondered why the parking lot is half full now when it used to be packed all the time, but we don't wonder anymore. The one good thing is that the staff is still as friendly and prompt as ever. But we won't be going back anytime soon. A bag of their good chips and a container of pasole to go is the one thing I can still recommend.
