Not a friendly place anymore been going there my whole life but now it has been commercialized and Un friendly. If you camp and speak much louder than a whisper you are ejected so don't speak very loudly even when you need to because you have a parchally deaf person in your party. I can understand if it is past the quiet hour but at 830 in the evening you are told to be quiet and stop talking oh my goodness what is this world coming to everyone is in a big hurry to get into other people's business or get other people into trouble for no reason. Do yourselves a favor and go to another campground. This place has gone down hill.

Thought it would be a good place for family fun. We rented pontoon boats at $30/ an hour. No one ever explained to us that if you are even just a FEW minutes over an hour, you are charged for the WHOLE hour. So that 10 minutes it took to pack up and drive to the office to pay cost us $30.00! The Supervisor did not seem worried about customer satisfaction. To bad, we would of made several trips back. Very disappointed.

Another great visit to Loud Thunder! Camping is excellent, minus the raccoons we've had at our site every night we camp. We are always finding new paths and fishing spots! :)

I went one night to check out the lake for kayaking and have been back multiple times since. Very peaceful place to fish, hike, or kayak.

Took one of the moderate, mile long trails with my wife and 3 kids (ages 4-9). Moderate is an interesting way to put it, but it was fun nonetheless. We're looking forward to trying the other trails, especially in the fall. So far the best hiking experience I've had withing half hours drive of the QCA.
