Located at 3172 Government Street, Louisiana Key Academy is a tuition-free public charter school serving grades 1-5 for children with dyslexia.
Children with dyslexia often struggle to learn to read and are terrible spellers. It runs in families and the children can have speech delay as young children.They are bright children but need special instruction by trained teachers.
The mission of the Louisiana Key Academy is to provide an evidence based educational program for children with dyslexia and characteristics of dyslexia in East Baton Rouge and the surrounding parishes. The school will employ teachers who have undergone professional development from the Neuhaus Ed Center in Houston in a structured, sequential curriculum so that the LKA can transform the students into confident, independent readers.
