Incompetent and unethical, rude behavior from support staff. KAREN, support staff in their Prenatal Clinic, contacted me to inform me that I was not qualified based on my insurance. She had me confused with another patient or their computer did not reflect accurate info, as they did accept my insurance. When trying to explain this to her, she kept talking over me and eventually hung up on me. I was deemed a high risk pregnancy patient informed by KAREN, support staff in the Prenatal Clinic based on inaccurate information she received from a 3rd party. High risk? I wanted to know why. Is my unborn child at risk? The matter could not be resolved despite me contacting Personnel, Jaime and the Chief Operating Officer, Tiffany Mire. I also contacted the physican's nurse Jessica of Dr. Julie Martin. Anyway, I did get scheduled for my glucose tolerance test and other blood work, by another support worker unbeknown to KAREN. However, I was never informed of any of my pregnancy prenatal workup results. But guess who calls me even before the tests results were completed. You guessed it, KAREN, to inform me that her and administration made the decision to not accept me. I couldn't get an answer why because she kept saying she didn't want to argue. As far as patient care goes, what happened to my anemia test, gestational diabetes test, and other tests? Upon visiting another doctor, I am almost severely anemic and positive for gestational diabetes. These people are slimeballs, especially for letting KAREN contact me after I explained to them all the trouble I had with her.

I have had such a great experience with the staff at Louisiana Women's Healthcare Associates over the last year. The apointment staff (at check-in and check-out) are friendly and helpful in getting me in to see Dr. Rebeca Boudreaux and then scheduling my next appointment. I also must give kudos to the Staff at UltraSound. I had to have several U/S during my pregnancy and all members there were courteous. From checking in, to my many visits with my doctor, to my ultra-sounds, and financial collections...all of my visits were wonderful. Thank you to the entire staff at Louisiana Women's Healthcare!!

There is such a variety of doctors here, that you are sure to find a physician who fits your style. I love Dr. Jill Bader - she's fast and efficient, but always takes a moment to ask about my broader health issues. She's always willing to stop and listen. I was nervous about going to a Gyn in a group that so heavily OB -- in the past other doctors have left me sitting for hours when they had a mother in labor. LWHA's staff is really good about communicating with me and I've never shown up for an appointment to be left in the waiting room.

Summary: Mediocre bedside manner, dreadful customer service. Billing department impossible to reach by phone and insurance claims will not be filed in a timely manner, if at all. Went here for Rebecca S. Boudreaux. Felt a little rushed in the appointment and had to ask her some of my questions twice since she wouldn't answer them, but nothing horrible in the bedside manner. Billing and filing my insurance, however, became a logistical nightmare. Dr. Boudreaux wrote down that I had chronic problems in the past (I don't and didn't say I had, so this was quite puzzling), which led my insurance company to deny the entire claim on a pre-existing condition that I had not been diagnosed with. I had to contact LWHA to amend my medical records, and give them the contact information from my past doctors so that LWHA could request my records, which took me four phone calls to follow up with LWHA in order to push them to do so. I then had to push the patient accounts department to file for my reconsideration, which they never did. I only learned of their failure to do so when I received my overdue bill which had been sent to my old address (which I had updated with them in every phone call). Only after learning from my insurance company that they never received a reconsideration did I call LWHA three times the following morning to be re-routed to three different voicemails (apparently nobody works Friday mornings) that never returned my call. I then heard back from my insurance company that my reconsideration had been filed-- apparently in a panicked reaction to my persistent voicemails. In conclusion: Customer service is dreadful and the logistics of this hospital's billing, mailing, and insurance filing is mortifying. Avoid them unless you have excellent insurance coverage, or are ready to pay in cash!
