Awesome place. Always drive by, but never took time to stop in till now. The bar is fantastic with it's own homemade tinctures. Incredible process. Coffee cafe was perfect. Sushi & Hibachi, Peruvian caterer is standard vendors each week to 8pm. Check days seasonally and due to COVID. Vendors occasionally, check webpage.
If you like cocktails this is your place! The drink menu is creative and the prices are reasonable. Aaron has created some amazing drinks. Joe, the bartender, mixes a mean drink. The 51 cocktail I a must try. The new food menu is also improved. They keep late hours and it's just a real classy, yet unpretentious, neighborhood feel-good place. You won't be disappointed.
This place is great! The cocktails are unique. The 51 is delicious. Don't ask what's in it. The bar food is good, but not as good as the cocktails. Joe is very knowledgeable and makes a wonderful drink!
"The embodiment of class without pretension" Says the description of their signature drink. That might raise an eyebrow, but It's not contradictory if it's a statement of fact. The drink selection covers a pretty broad range of tastes and the staff is knowledgeable. The charcuterie board and chicken sliders were pretty amazing, too. Surprisingly complex flavors without being overwhelming, and everything served with on a cute plank. Give it a shot and you might find the slogan applies to more than just the drink.
Came here to celebrate our anniversary. We absolutely loved it. The food was delicious and drinks were as well. The atmosphere was so mellow and laidback that we stayed for about 3-4 hours ordering more delicious food. I highly recommend Lounge 51. The owner of the place even came by to see how we were doing and made sure we were well taken care of.
This place is great! I saw a show one Sunday afternoon and had the best time. The beer selection is wonderful. They have a lot of local brews. Food is also excellent. Staff of Joe and Aaron make it a place to revisit.
Absolutely a great place to have unique and tasteful drinks!!! Aaron Manager and drink extraordinaire has created some amazing drinks. I have used their facilities Dream Hall multiple times for events and each times we have been treated with outstanding customer service. Thrilled about future ones at Lounge 51!
Nice large location, met there for two separate Entrepreneur/Networking events, about 15-20 people. Nice meeting rooms, bar and separate coffee area. Great place to meet in large or small groups; happy hour or meet up. - tell them GIB referred you I get know credit, but do love what they are doing in downtown Elgin!
We stopped at this restaurant during the Friday night farm market after sampling some of their food on the street. Unfortunately the positive experience ended there. No one to greet or seat you but someone finally showed up to take our order. We shared a plate of meat and cheeses that were pretty good but should of included some bread or at least crackers. I had a sample beer and wanted to order another but our waiter never came back to check on us. When we left there was only one bartender to handle the bar and all the tables, not smart on a Friday night. You only have one chance to make a first impression I would think a new restaurant would go overboard to make that impression positive.
Had the worst experience at Lounge 51!! I came from downtown Chicago to inquire about a private event as my sisters birthday is coming up and I wanted to book a nice lounge for drinks and food for about 50-60 people. We walk up and the bartender didn’t even acknowledge us. It was funny because I’m sure it wasn’t our appearance as I had over $200,000 in jewelry. He had the worst attitude. I asked about spirits and tried explaining I live downtown Chicago and wanted to see what spirits they offer. He rudely pointed behind him as he was looking at the screen in front of him. As a business owner the first thing we do is greet anybody who walks in the door. We then still attempted to talk about the building across the street to establish a conversation and give him another chance, he still had no interest in our business. It’s ok because I’ll take my budget of $15,000 elsewhere where they accept that kind of money. They must not need the money as it was also empty. It makes me sad because my sister really likes the caffe on the first floor and will not be returning. I guess not every business understands hospitality. It’s not just revenue!! It’s customer service and going above and beyond. When you work for tips you go above and beyond and you crate an experience. That’s what I pay for every night when I take clients to dinner. Learn to be more kind and smile. A business with a bartender that rude will get nowhere. I still hope the business does well but make sure you hire experience and Happy people! I’ve always told every employee we hire that you have to love what you do. We all have bad days but this was just bad bad bad service!! Much look to you Lounge 51 but I won’t be sending any of my friends from Barrington and surrounding areas!!!
