I was a student at Ludlam Elementary School from the 2009-2010 school year until the 2014-2015 school year. I spent kindergarten until 5th grade at this school. I don't remember much from kindergarten and 1st grade, but I had Ms. Montero, who has moved on from this school, and Ms. Santamaria. In second grade I had Ms. Agrelot. This is when I started being less shy and made new friends. By the way, I was the ultimate goody-two-shoes during elementary. I almost cried when I got on "yellow" on the traffic light thing. (This was a system where you had green, which meant you were ok, yellow, which meant you were in a little trouble, and red, where they called your parents. According to my memory, I was only on yellow twice in kindergarten. In 3rd grade, I had Ms. Levine, one of my favorites. I believe she is retired, but she was one of the nicest teachers I've ever had. She was strict, but nice and funny as well. This year was when us 3rd graders weren't "little babies" anymore, we were getting to be the "big boys" of the school. I was still a goody-two-shoes this year, however, and got great grades. During the 2nd grading period of this year, I got my first B. I cried and apologized to my parents for no reason at all. This was a very fun year, and Ms. Levine made amazing chocolate pretzels! (Hope I got that right). During my 4th grade year, I had the privilege of being taught by Ms. Sardiñas. She was extremely kind to me, and this was my second best year of elementary. In 4th grade, I kind of started breaking out of my shell and became extremely comfortable with the enviroment of the school. 5th grade was my favorite year, no question. I sort of coasted through the year, having fun all the way through. The 5th grade field trip to Islands of Adventure is a unforgettable memory for me. However, during this school year, I developed habits of procrastination, that, to this day, still plague me. Back to that later. During 5th grade, I felt the most comfortbale and happy I have ever felt in my schooling so far. It seemed like nobody hated me, and every day was a good time! Coach Bertrand taught Physical Education from my first day to my last. He is one of the best coaches out there, and I sincerely hope he is still coaching! Ms. Gonzalez, my Spanish teacher throughout elementary, was caring and loving, all the way. It made me really enjoy Spanish and learning it. I had Art and Music, but didn't really enjoy them. I had Ms. Sanchez and Mr. Thomas for art, and Mr. Burris for music. Looking back on it, they were nice teachers, even though I didn't particularly enjoy their classes. I now am entering 8th grade at G.W. Carver middle, and I still wish I had one more day at Ludlam. I am way more fluent in Spanish though! One more thing. During 5th grade, I won the school spelling bee, and was given the wrong words to study by a teacher that has left the school, I believe. I have heard from my mom that the school is going downhill, which saddens me. Thank you to all my amazing teachers at this school- Nick B.

This is a cosy size school, with a good cafeteria (free breakfast) and ok outdoor facilities. My son is 5 and attends PK1. The class room is very nice, and the teacher appears involved, caring and good quality. No regrets!
