Also, what great service, what a super staff! They're so sweet & friendly & on top of things. Cozy, yummy spot. Recommend Kid-friendliness: Accommodating & so sweet to baby
I can’t believe I have not written a review on Lupa Trattoria before. I have been coming here regularly for the past 12 years. This, in my opinion, is the best Italian restaurant in San Francisco. The secret is simple dishes, executed perfect every time. Stefano, the owner maintains the quality of food, service, and wine selection extremely well. This restaurant, truly, is one of the best kept secret in San Francisco.
Had the bucatini, so so good! Need to try the fettuccine with all the mushrooms next time. Also, the olive oil is so good! Admittedly I love bread and butter or bread and oil and vinegar but was very pleasantly surprised how good their sole olive oil was. The vibe is lovely, appreciated the back patio as well.Food: 5/5
My friend said I had to try it cuz I liked the Mona Lisa down on Columbus, she was not wrong. This is an AMAZING little hole-in-the-wall place that is a tiny little gem amongst this city. I'm home and sooo STUFFED don't forget dessert...we had the cream puffs in chocolate sauce Food: 5/5
One of my favorite Italian places in all of SF! We drive out of our neighborhood to come to this place! The truffle pasta and the pink sauce pasta are the best! They have an outdoor heater patio in the rear as well as plenty of indoor seating. Friendly staff and just general neighborhood feel Dietary restrictions: Ask the staff Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Another fabulous meal at Lupa! Couldn't have asked for a better Valentine's Day dinner!Food: 5/5
Everything was great. The flavours, the temperature of the food when served, just fantastic. I did find that my spaghetti was just a tad bit underdone, the other pastas were al-dente. Sorry, I forgot the names of all the dishes. The tiramisu was also so so good! This might be my new favourite Italian in town!
Lupe Trattoria feels as if it were lifted outside of a small town in Italy and dropped in the middle of Noe. There's a bustle to the modest dining room, and you feel the brisk tempo as you sit down. It is decorated sparingly, just lots of warm brown wood and mustard walls with very few pieces of art. It's intimate and cozy without being dull. The menu is equally simple but quite good, two pages filled with about two dozen creations. I had the tortellini alla cardinale, filled with ground beef and pork and smothered in a pink cream sauce littered with chanterelles, peas, and prosciutto. It was excellent. The other standout was the penne alla rugantino, drizzled with warm olive oil, caramel isles onion, sun dried tomatoes, kalamata olives and Romano cheese. It was slightly better than mine; buyers remorse. The others were very good if not superb. Prices were affordable and great for the quality. Service was pretty good as well, very family-style. Highly recommended. Dec 22, 2014
Great local find that serves authentic offerings with a spin. You almost feel like family when dinning here, service was delightful and food was well balanced! The bruschetta was divine!!!! Crème brûlée was slightly over toasted. Would return!
An absolute joy to eat here with very affordable prices. The pasta was delicious we ordered the tortellini with creamy tomato sauce, the mushroom fettuccine and the roasted cheese all of them DELICIOUS the service was fast and friendly. It was very fast as well.
