M Allan Vogelson Regional Branch, Camden County Library System

Story

Camden County Library is the county library system located in Camden County, New Jersey. It is headquartered in Voorhees, New Jersey.HistoryThe library system was established in 1921. At the time, Camden County was mostly rural. Service consisted of selecting and delivering small collections of books to schools and other locations used to supply books. The former headquarters library, located at the Camden County Courthouse, served mainly as a storage facility. The library declined after World War II, but was revived with a new Commission who appointed a professional librarian and plans for relocation were made. In 1969, the headquarters moved to the Echelon Mall (now known as the Voorhees Town Center) in Voorhees. Then in 1977, the library moved across the street from the mall, where the current headquarters is located. In 2004, the branch was named in honor of M. Allan Vogelson, a county freeholder who developed the facility.BranchesBranch locations are: Headquarters, South County Regional Branch, Bellmawr, Blackwood, Camden, Merchantville, and Westmont. The city of Camden previously had its own city library system. However, in 2010 Camden came close to being the first city in the United States to close its entire library system because of budget cuts. At the last moment, it was saved by the Camden County Library system, which agreed to take over and rescue the threatened branches.

I spoke to Bill Brahms today - if you consider the person on the other end - talking over you - and shrieking - conversation. I simply called to ask why only leftist or liberal authors are cited during the annual National Banned Books month celebration. These authors wrote during the 19th century - yet David Irving - a right of center British Historian was jailed for 3 years (400 days in solitary) in 2005. Why is it that liberals keep wanting to think of themselves as victims when they control the public schools and the University - not to mention the mainstream media and Hollywood? Having lost the last presidential election - leftists like Brahms are at wits end. He tried everything he could to put me in my place - including accusing me of being part of an organized group of right wing subversives - but only succeeded in making an a++ of himself. I just recieved a very civil call back from the head of the county library system - a Mr. David Lisa - no doubt a New Jersey liberal himself- he was probably embarrassed by his unbalanced subordinate. I don't expect any changes in policy - despite his assurances. No changes in the status quo will emerge until the leftist litmus tests are taken out of Teaching Schools and other Graduate programs. Mr. Lisa surprised me with his maturity - but if he were anything but a liberal himself - he wouldn't hold the high position he does. New Jersey is beyond liberal - it's stultifyingly Stalinist. There is little hope for a turn around any time soon. As long as leftists control the Academy - they will continue to control thought. I would add that being as many of the users of the County's libraries are Black - the individuals that run the system will continue to appease them - by feeding the rest of us leftist pap. White administrators fear Black violence like the rest of us. These are topics Banned Books like " Don't Make The Black Kids Angry " cover.
