Mackay gardens is a public nature park that was purchased from a failed development project. It's a haven for tortoises and native plants. I also know at least one eagle has visited the park. It sits between two lake and a channel runs through it. Several paths are paved. I might be good for fishing and I believe the foot/bike bridge connects to a sidewalk that goes to Winter Haven. Just be sure to clean up after yourself. If you're civic-minded, they could always use volunteers to clean up or remove invasive plants. Call up the currators and ask when the next day for volunteers is. It could be a fun and educational activity for kids.

Very nice building, closes at sunset so you can't be there. Large playground for kids next to it. There is a great spot for pictures behind the building and a gazebo. There is a large lake view and the back yard connects to a walking t rail along the lake. Pokemon stops and gym here.

Nice, shaded trails. About 3 miles worth. Very scenic. A small playpen for the little ones, a covered pavilion with one grill and a gazebo by the lake behind the house. This place is a real treasure.

Very nice nature area with trails, play ground & bathroom. the historic mansion is a modern day marvel to see. I could live in the servants quarters.  The view of the lake from the mansion in very nice & peaceful.

Trails are fantastic. It is beautiful. Great place for the family. There us a group of Bald Eagles that live in the Gardens.
