It was fine. Exactly what you would expect. If you want one scoop, no you cannot get a half scoop of two flavors. One note - if you have a food allergy, I would highly suggest asking the ingredients. I got the pistachio and it very much had almond extract in it, so be mindful if you have an allergy.
The people who work there are friendly and helpful. They have a lot of different flavors of ice cream that I haven't tried tried before so luckily you can get a couple samples to test. I ended up going with the apple fritter which was delicious.
Very creamy and delicious. Also very crowded, so you will need to plan to eat it while you walk around Main St. Lots of flavors that you never see anymore... peppermint, pistachio, maple and walnut, etc.
Excellent ice cream, good service, cold air conditioning, and average prices for the island $$$. And don't bring your dog in there unless they really are service animals, no matter how cute they are....

We heard this is the best ice cream option on MV and it was pretty good. Definitely not super complex or mind-blowing but just good, fun ice cream. Not too creamy, not too watery, not too chunky, not too smooth -- just middle of the road scoops for a summer day at the beach. They have multiple locations across Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, and Edgartown, and a small will run you $4 or $5. My biggest wish is that they offered a kiddie scoop -- a small is just way too much for a normal 5'2" woman who hasn't done cardio that day to handle. They're taking COVID seriously so no sampling and a person limit within stores. So you can feel safe while getting your 'scream!
I am an ice cream fanatic. Unfortunately I was disappointed recently at Mad Martha's. They have several spots on MV that I visit every year. Many flavors you'll recognize but I gotta say the six we tried we not that great. Yes, their base is creamy and smooth. Maybe they are cutting back on high quality ingredients. The Mud Pie was ok, but not great with a weak coffee base and not much else. MV sea salt caramel was a fluffy white base, sorta sweet sorta salty. Nothing special. Save your calories and $9. Sinful chocolate had heath bar pieces in it and didn't live up to the name. Next time I'll stick with Richardson's which is served in OB near the ferry terminal or Bills Emporium.
Went here and to its competitor for an early dessert. My partner ordered maple walnut ice-cream from the competition and I ordered pistachio and chocolate from this establishment. The competition's ice-cream was much better because the texture was creamier and the flavor had a natural taste, whereas the ice-cream at Mad Martha's was thin and despite having chunks of pistachio nuts the icecream flavor tasted 100% artificial. Worst of all, the associate scooped my ice-cream without gloves. Overall, if you prefer a hygienic venue that sells creamy ice cream that isn't sickeningly sweet and has a flavor that's true to it's namesake, then walk towards the competitor because Mad Martha's isn't the spot for you.
Such great ice cream! Pistachio was good, I loved how many whole pistachios were in the ice cream.
Amazing vegan options! Great place to visit for vegans or dairy eaters, so many flavours to choose from!
