Very good meal, in a trendy atmosphere. Had the 1/2 dozen oysters to start and the steak frites as a main. The oysters were good, although not the best I’ve had. They were well prepared with no hint of “fishy” flavor save for one. The steak was very large for the price and decently grilled, albeit a bit dry and over cooked. The star of the steak were the mushrooms on top. The saltiness of the mushrooms paired with the beef made for great flavor. The sauce was a bit heavy-handed. However, considering the steak was slightly on the dry side, it all worked out. I would go back in the future. However, in this city, with this many great options, there’s nothing here that screams I NEED to go back.
Excellent restaurant and meal, super fresh and great takes on NOLA classic and contemporary dishes. Standouts were the char grilled oysters, adobo braised pork shank and manjari chocolate cake. I will be back next time I visit New Orleans!
Fun atmosphere to enjoy a great meal. The mushroom ravioli was great as were the Charbroiled Oysters. They have a great selection of signature cocktails, my favorite was the Anderson Old Fashion topped with Cracker Jax.
Saw their amazing menu online at their website. Made reservations. Get there and they give us a menu that only had a few things on it. I asked if this was the lunch menu instead of dinner menu because this doesn't look like the one online. She said "oh we have seasonal menus". I showed them how drastically different it is. Not even close. This looked like a 4am bar menu. Attached is the menu from the website at this very moment at 6:30pm vs their actual menu.
We made a reservation 2 weeks ago and Calle last night to confirm, but they didn't have it. So, we made a new reservation last night. When we got here, they had no idea what we were talking about. Our waitress was nice but didn't know much about the food. I enjoyed the charbroiled oysters. But my eggs weren't poached, they were hard boiled on the fried green tomato Benedict. My friend got the Crawfish Benedict and that was pretty good, too. We ordered chicken sausage but they kept bringing pork even when we asked. Just seems poorly run. The food was pretty good, for what we got.
I’ve eaten at thousands of restaurants across the world. Madam’s gets it’s 5 star rating mostly because of the amazing female bartender I’m afraid I forget her name. Working there. She holds the ship tight and runs it well. I turned up asking for an Albariño. She said yes. She knew the wines and understood the menu thoroughly. The Albariño BTW was only $10 and served with a “sidecar”. We returned the next night for food and ordered the Gumbo, It tasted wonderful but the portions were rather meager. It was ac1/3 of the bowl full. The thing about Gumbo is that’s roots come from being a poor people’s dish, which is lots of food dumped in a bowl. It’s not gazpacho. Which can be served cold and as a pallet plaster / refresher. When we mentioned the meager portions.. This incredible bartender actually went and got us another round of Gumbo. How phenomenal. 5 stars. All the way!
Food was good, endless mimosas for $15 for brunch. Only 1 server tho but she was friendly
Gumbo was spicy salt water with rice. Cheese and meat board was 1 slice of 3 different types of deli meat and some cheese with spicy mustard. Not worth 20 dollars. The oyster were ok but they add hot sause to it and it ruined the flavor for me and they never gave us bread. Ordered a second drink but it never came . Over all bad . They have only a few items on their menu so how is it possible to mess up all of them . Bread pudding was good .
The gumbo was so salty and without any substance that I had to send it back. My replacement meal, the Crawfish ravioli, included no crawfish.fortunately, the second drink we ordered never came so we could leave early. The bartender who served us was very nice and overworked.
The shrimp po boy was delicious! The shrimp were fresh and hot right out of the fryer! My husband loved his oysters too. Thank you Keymia, for your gracious service. We will be back.
