Erwin Magic Johnson Park is one of many parks located in South Los Angeles. With many picnic areas (with great shade trees, a playground, Senior Recreational area, 1-1/4 mile walking track, free parking (three parking areas. Magic Johnson Park has a very large pond which divides into two pond, this park is full of wild life, mainly squarrels and many type of birds, they use to stock the pond with catfish, but the water is no longer clean enough to sustain, health fish to eat, so there are sign posted. But our community enjoys having a beautiful park so close, Magic Johnson Park is no longer the best kept secret, because its now the place for family outings and gatherings, really for all occasions, it has been found as the place to rest or celebrate, to get good scenic backgrounds for great photos, or just to let my grandchildren feed the ducks!

They really cleaned this park up good. I am no longer afraid to come run in this park or even take my family here. Although its small amounts of homeless people it is no bother and the atmosphere and animals make up and it is so beautiful. Especially to be in a low income neighborhood.

Good park to walk, run, chill, BBQ, sports, whatever you like. Clean stocked public restrooms, a bunch of ducks and geese, fishing(don't eat em tho), etc. It's relatively safe too, I've been coming here for years and have never seen anything to deter me from coming or recommending this park. There's sides to the park too, the Avalon and El Segundo and 120th side, all three have parking lots. Peace.

It's the ideal place for exercising, picnicking and just having a relaxing day. You can also enjoy the lake and its pleasant surrounding.

Beautiful, peaceful place in the inner-city to get out-doors. Lake attracts the ducks, geese and other birds...fun to feed. Good place to bring kids over the Holiday's...free fun. Have an after Holiday Picnic with the left-overs. Join others in the Community playing a rousing game of Domino's ...with music and laughter filling the air. Enjoy!
