Story

Main+Lincoln is a New American restaurant concept coming to downtown Valparaiso, Indiana in March 2014. Located in a turn-of-the-century building rich with character and warmth, the physical restaurant reflects the high standard of service and artistry of the classic food to be served. The menu consists of dishes that celebrate all the ethnicities that have impacted America's ever-evolving cuisine. The beverage program focuses on traditional cocktails, a curated wine list balancing quality with value, as well as a very extensive offering of beer from America and abroad. Main+Lincoln aims to create an experience welcoming to all, whether celebrating a softball game victory or a date with your special someone. The open atmosphere, nice layout is refreshing & inviting. We rolled up around 7p to the bar on a Monday. Not busy @ all. They have a nice selection of whiskey & bourbons to choose from. The drink menu was great all around. Was able to go thru the drinks with the bartender & he offered some recommendations. I ordered an old fashioned, Journeyman Rye & my darlin ordered a Black Gimlet. Both superb. 

Then had dinner @ a table. Ordered Calamari for an app, delicious too. We went to order the Salmon (cooked perfectly), the Pasta, the Amish Chicken, & Burger. Everything looked great & all parties thoroughly enjoyed their plates. 

Overall, impressed with the food, drinks, & atmosphere. The service @ the table was decent, could have been better, a little more on top of things & quick & not so quirky. 

We will definitely come back but might just stick to the bar next time.

Update: returned 2 months later and still five stars and I stand by my previous review. Staffs a little quirky but great service. 

Had an amazing evening late after work at the bar. Food, drinks, staff and service were all exquisite. What a GEM in Valpo. Will be returning. A lot.

The atmosphere was okay... however, it was very cold in there so I would suggest bringing a jacket if you want to eat there. The staff was very lazy. I saw the waitresses in the kitchen doing nothing and our poor receptionist had to serve us. It took them 10 minutes just to get me a sprite! The food was very underwhelming. It took an hour for it to arrive and the pork belly dish I got what way too salty. I was close to gagging after every bite. When we got the bill, it was 200 dollars!?! That's more than my computer costs. Finally, that receptionist almost spilled a glass of wine on my mother. Overall, it was a very bad experience. The food was shabby, the service was slow, and it was way overpriced. I would never want to go back

THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED TONIGHT. Walked up at 920 which isn't unusual at all to find the doors locked, lights on, and employees smoking cigarettes inside. POST STRICT BUSSINESS HOURS. I just wanted to partake in your Monday burger special,  and now I will not be back.
