I know people love to slam state agencies; my calls to the ME D.O.L. are always returned in a reasonable period of time (yes, it is a drag to have to leave a voice mail requesting the call back but everyone complains about the cost of government so I am sure their staff is lean). When they call, they give me professional and accurate answers - perhaps not always the answers I would like to hear but it better to get those answers ahead of time instead of being called in for a violation hearing. As a small business founder and owner of 41 years, I think they do a very good job dealing with less than pleasant tasks.

Theresa was a blessing when I phoned in today. My wait time was short and she helped me with all my questions. Being new to the whole online system, she corrected my errors I did wrong while applying and answering their questions. Time and patience are the two best warriors when working with a busy place such as this. They are people just like us trying to make it through one day at a time. Thank you MDOL for helping this Mainer make pay our bills and continue interviewing for that right, potential job.

I had a fact finding interview and told the guy straight up yes I found a job but had to quit 3 days later because I found out it wasn't going to work with my school schedule long term. Told him my school schedule. He made me get a copy of my grades which none were below a B, my school schedule, fill out two additional pages of paperwork and e-mail them to him. A week later he sent me a denial letter because I voluntarily quit the job I had for 3 days. Why make me do all that leg work if you know you're going to deny me? D bag.

These people are definitely not here to help you. I've been trying since their offices opened this morning to speak to an agent. Apparently they aren't taking calls at all today, and their excuse for it is that they are experiencing "high call volumes" and don't even give you the option to wait for someone, and since I called at literally 8:01, this information is clearly false and misleading. I have also tried calling again multiple times only to be led to the same automated voice message. They will keep pulling this on consumers until their offices close at noon, and I have no doubt that I will be dealing with this same thing tomorrow. What they are doing is illegal, yet we get scrutinized by these people if even 1 bit of information is wrong (even if it was them who put the wrong information down in the first place). I have contacted the General Attorney's Office, I am hoping they will be of better help. We the people need to expose these types of government businesses that prosecute the innocent while they commit these illegal practices.

These people are sickening low lives period...They have bungled the system and actually discarded peoples info...Hope they get a lawyer on their butts and get a class action they will never forget...Keep your money. Any new claimants reading this, should take this advice, either dont bother or get attorney, or contact your Senator.
