I could not be more pleased with this hospital. The staff is incredible and caring. Yes, it is expensive, but no more than any other specialist. I compared prices for my cat's procedure and MVMC does not charge more than the average rate. MRIs and surgery are expensive no matter where you go. The staff called repeatedly to check on the well being of my cat, and you could tell from their demeanor that they really cared about her. Dr. Rubin was our surgeon and he was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and kind.

I read the negative reviews, but my dog looked like he needed immediate care before my regular vet was open. My dog went from running around the house to their icu within 8 hours. They could not say what was causing illness. Estimates started at $1800 for blood work, X-ray and ultrasound. By the following morning they had charged $3000. New estimates for a blood transfusion were $4500+. (And I am sure much more for surgery...). I do not doubt that they care about saving animals, however, their prices are inflated so high that they have to offer loan and credit card applications in the lobby. I heard others in the lobby with similar experiences in the short time I was there. At the end of the day my dog is going to die because I cannot afford to continue care here and I do not have enough credit to continue care elsewhere now.

I cannot say enough positive things about the staff at this hospital. Dr. Eifler is absolutely amazing. And the staff watching over me as I spent all day in the waiting area while my dog was in a procedure was wonderful. Yes, expensive. But that is why responsible pet owners need to pay for insurance. This hospital is special because normally you pay full bill up front and wait to be reimbursed. Their relationship with Trupanion makes it so you only pay the deductible, exam, and 10%. You don't have to pay for everything up front. It was such a relief for me when my bill was over 5k. Made things easier to bear. I would recommend this practice 100% every time. Thank you Dr Eifeler, and the practice for making it easy for me and my fur baby. To the people complaining about cost at this practice -and giving a low mark for that reason, you are being selfish. GET PET INURANCE. No where you go is gong to be cheap. It is not the practice's fault that they are charging what they do for amazing care. As a pet owner BE RESPONSIBLE and GET PET INSURANCE.

We don't usually use the office as it's quite far from our home. However my cat, having had surgery for mammary cancer, was clearly uncomfortable when we got up Sunday morning. We had hoped for a couple more months to say good-bye, but that was not to be. The other vet we called wanted to have a complete exam before agreeing to euthanize her - pretty ridiculous for a geriatric, terminally ill cat. Waiting until we could get her to our regular vet was not an option. Vet was compassionate, techs and staff superlative.

Absolutely the best neutological care in the New England area. Highly recommend. They ARE specialists and they ARE busy because they are so good and they DO have expensive equipment and trained staff yet still keep costs reasonable for specialized care.
