Maiz brings the fresh flavors of Mexico to Washtenaw County with modern Mexican cuisine prepared from scratch daily. You won't find anything canned or frozen on your plate at Maiz (disclaimer: the kids chicken fingers are frozen - the only thing on the menu!). Maiz is locally owned and operated and uses local vendors and products when possible.

Delicious. Delicious. Delicious. The tortillas and chip are always fresh, the food is always hot and the margaritas are on point. Happy hour here is sensational, you can grab a bite to eat and a jumbo margarita for around 10 bucks that leaves you feeling relaxed and full. The staff seems happy to be there, with the occasional run down server just needing a break and their trivia night is fun. They could promote trivia a bit more, I didn't even know it existed until we popped in for a drink one night and found it happening on accident. I love there is outdoor seating in the summer and the restaurant is kept pretty clean. One thing is the flooring, it could use a new floor for sure to brighten the place up.

Extremely good Mexican food. It was very busy, but service was good. We were there during happy hour, and they have super deals on Margaritas. The Margaritas are very good. In nice weather you can sit outside. Parking can be tricky, but there is a big lot across the street. They are very accommodating when it comes to sharing dishes. Definitely a place I will make a return visit.

There was a long wait for a seat. I waited 5 minutes just to be acknowledged as a customer. It is also very loud. The food was good. The Street Corn tastes great, but the quantity is very small.

Tasty food, decent service but feel rushed when dining sometimes. Including all the service personnel running around so fast, it feels like a marathon in there. Waits to get seated can be long. So just adjust your expectations accordingly. Bartender service and drinks (margaritas!) were great.

I have now been to Maiz twice while visiting my sister. And both times have been great! Clean, fast and friendly service!! Even with our party of 10 on our last visit on a Sunday afternoon, our food came quickly, our server kept up with our drink refills and making sure we were taken care of!!
