Malte did an outstanding job on my recent kitchen renovation.  He is creative, has a keen eye for detail and enjoys his work.  It really shows in the outcome.  My new kitchen is far more functional and attractive.  I am very happy with the quality of his work.  Malte started the project on time and finished it on time.  I was especially grateful that he was thoughtful, patient and forthcoming when we spoke about options and ideas.  From start to finish, it turned out to be the most pleasant renovation I have had.  For these reasons, I would not hesitate to hire Malte for future projects.  He is excellent.

We recently had Malte Build out to help us re-level our subfloor in our townhome after another contractor did a terrible job. Malte was very professional from the first meeting. He was very well spoken and was able to talk us through all the work he would have to do to help rectify our current problem. We could not be more happy with the results. We would definitely recommend Malte Build to anyone. We will be looking to hire them again for our next renovations.

This is a long overdue review of Malte's outstanding work for us in November 2013.  Malte is by far the most professional, skilled, and reasonable contractor I have ever dealt with.  We bought a fully renovated (gutted from the ground up) home Malte's crew had done for the previous owner in Alexandria.  We bought it because the work his crew did was meticulous.  It's a 1940's row house.  It was completely updated with a more open kitchen, brand new tiled bathrooms, refinished floors, a completely refinished and carpeted basement, new windows, new plumbing, new electrical, new almost everything.  However, Malte left many of the original architectural highlights and thus the charm remained intact. A modern house with older charm.  Exactly what we were looking for.  A few weeks after purchasing the home we had a few small issues.  There was a leak in the upstairs bathroom and a squirrel found its way into the crawl space.  Malte had to come back to finish something in the kitchen.  When he was done with that project, he went above and beyond and took care of these problems as well (for free).  Because we were so impressed with his work, we hired him to renovate the kitchen, adding 6 feet of countertop and cabinets -- essentially doubling the size of our kitchen.  Malte found the matching hardware and, when he couldn't find an exact match on the granite, found the one piece in all of Virginia that was a 99% match.  He also recommended that we add a backsplash, which he charged us very little to install.  While he was working on the kitchen, we decided to have him add crown molding to the main floor and the master bath.  His team got all of it done quickly and within budget.  I would hire him again in a minute. You should call him now.

Bath remodel in Arlington / Falls Church

My friend recommended Malte Build.  Malte had completed a major remodel of their 1920's farm house and it looked great.  I obtained multiple estimates and Malte's was in line with the middle of the very large range.  Malte was great to work with and I love my new bathroom!  He was extremely helpful in referring me to Robert at The Tile Shop in Springfield.  The shop has a large number of display bathrooms, so you can get many good ideas.  Robert was fantastic in providing design advice and the end result is very much due to his tactful recommendations (on several occasions, he reminded me that due to the small space, I wanted to avoid having too much going on).  Malte also guided me throughout the design process, making sure that my design ideas were functional as well.  Malte started and completed the remodel in the agreed upon time frame for the agreed upon price.  He was always willing to explain the process and answer my questions (I was an involved and some might say demanding client.) At the completion of the project, he asked me if I was happy with everything.  I have to admit that of all the numerous contractors who have worked in my house, Malte is the first to actually ask this and make sure that I was pleased with everything before he left.  The bathroom remodel went much smoother than I expected, I am certain this is due to the high professional standards of Malte.
