Story

Mammy’s Kitchen started out in May of 2007 with offering 50 seats and a small kitchen. In 2015 Mammy’s went from tiny to large now having 200 seats as well as a beautiful patio dining and country bar.
Right in the heart of downtown Bardstown, Mammy’s Kitchen is a family owned and operated restaurant that offers authentic southern hospitality and the best country cookin around. Serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and homemade desserts. Lunch and dinner specials featured daily!
House Favorites-The Bourbon Burger-Kentucky Hot Brown, Eggs Benedict, and the Bourbon Pork Chops
Kids Eat Free every Wednesday from 4pm-8pm

We had a late lunch here on Sunday afternoon. The place was very busy and we had to wait a few minutes for a table even at 2 pm. Once the waiter took our order it still took a while to get our food. However, it was worth the wait. I ordered their version of a BLT. It was out of this world delicious. The sandwich includes a fried green tomato and a generous portion of fabulous pimento cheese along with the bacon and lettuce. We didn't order dessert but the pieces of pie that were being served looked homemade and out of this world. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great food, large portions, and great prices. The breakfast hot brown is delicious! Pancakes are bigger than the plates. Great friendly service and family owned.

Wow, that was delicious! Worth every calorie. We had the fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese appetizer. I had the Kentucky Hot Brown for the first time and my boyfriend had the chicken fried chicken. We ate a little of each other's plate, and I think he was jealous of my plate ;) The Chicken Fried Chicken was one of the best I've had, but Mammy's Kitchen won awards for the Best Hot Brown in Kentucky- and it was delicious! We finished it off with a slice of coconut creme pie, and it was fantastic. Now we're 10 pounds heavier, but well worth it! Good service, not so good parking, but awesome food.

This is honestly the best breakfast I have ever had at a restaurant. Great service too. First ate here the morning I moved into college at Lindsey Wilson College freshman year. It was a great start of what is now a tradition of eating there every time I move back (or move out). I try to get something different every time I eat there, and have not been disappointed by anything, other than the fact that I live an hour away. If y'all ever open another Mammy's, open it somewhere in East Louisville! I need me some more Mammy's in my life.

The visit here was shocking, only because don't let the small entrance fool you.
Once through the door you will find a large open resturant with plenty of seating. Food was great, with quality taste, (not can taste).
Server was on it, and made sure drinks were filled, even got my sweet tea with lime correct. Bonus fresh lime with each glass.
Will definitely go back on the next Bardstown outing !
