Great experience today! The young woman working she needs a raise and the ability to control the AC. The owner apparently has it under lock and key and it was 78 degrees inside. However she was friendly and kind. My son said that wasn’t just made right it was PERFECT!
these ice cream prices are ridiculous. The size is very small for a milkshake and you pay 8 bucks or you can spend $10 for a slightly larger size. They need to get with the program with prices or they will be going out of business. go across the street to Baskin-Robbins for a better experience.
Second visit where the service is bad, young man working behind the counter is nice but seems unaware of cleanliness. Hands off ice cream cups sticky and overflowing ice cream all over the cup and the cones were stale Not sure how often hand washing is enforced bc the same person who prepared my order also took my payment and then continued with the next person Definitely not worth the $$
Took over 30 minutes for us to place an order there. It took the one employee quite a while to prepare each ice cream. He was also not wearing gloves
Employees were not wearing gloves. I mentioned something about it but the girl said that they wash their hands a lot. So I didn’t say anything after that. I observed how the other guys who were making the banana splits I ordered, was placing the cherries on top of the whipped cream with a plastic spoon that is supposed to be for customers, one of them fell out, he grabbed it and put it aside, proceeded to clean off his fingers on his clothing then went back on to adding another cherry. That grossed me out because it’s unsanitary to do that. Won’t be back. Poor customer service.
This ice cream place never disappoints me, their flavors are really good, they are homemade quality with natural ingredients, a lot of options, Service was friendly and easygoing
Sadly going downhill. We've been coming to Marble Slab in Kingwood since the 90s, when they were located next to Randalls. We've watched as the prices slid from a little above average to shockingly high. Currently, a regular cone here costs about as much as gallon of Blue Bell. But that's ok, because it's a treat. Until tonight. Tonight, we ordered two cones--a regular and a small. Both were supposed to be "double-dark chocolate" ice cream. It cost $17 before tip. What we got, though, was nothing like it. What we got was spicy. Both of us found ourselves scrunching up our faces trying to figure out why our normally delicious ice cream tasted so lousy. That's ok--mistakes happen. They probably gave us some other flavor by accident--Mexican Mocha or something... Nope, the woman who appeared to be in charge had no interest in listening to us, offering to get us something else, or even apologizing. She basically told us to get lost. So I think that's it. No more Marble Slab for us. Our cardiologist will thank them.
If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered a custom cake for my son's 4th birthday 2 days in advance. I show up Sunday waiting 40 minutes for the store to open. No one ever showed up. Extremely disappointed. UPDATE: After sitting outside for one hour and eleven minutes, finally someone, still in their PJs showed up to give me my cake. 7/25/21 UPDATE: So I gave this place a second chance a year later and sure enough they let me down one more time. Ordered a cake 3 days in advance and apparently no one could find it. The employee didn't even have have his bosses phone number to call and verify if it was ever made. After going back and forth for about 30 minutes they still had no idea which cake was mine. It probably was never made. Now they're playing guess which cake could be mine. I guess we'll figure out when we cut it open 3 hours from now.
Lost my business. Today was the last straw. We’ve visited other Marble Slabs and never been charged inconsistently and overcharged. Each time the price has increased. My husband and I buy quarts every time. Originally we paid around $30 for two, today we added a pint and we paid $50. There was a mistake and the manager is compensating, however every location we’ve visited is free mix in’s, I haven’t been charged for mix in’s for several years. When I questioned the pricing today once we got home and realized our $50 worth of ice cream was not full containers, we were told the larger sizes get charged for mix in’s…so basically a quart of ice cream with mix in’s is $23. My mind was blown. Of course when I inquire about this, the reason used was inflation…yet I’m still seeing blue bell and other brands around the same price in the stores. As I don’t mind paying more for better quality, I definitely don’t appreciate being taken advantage of, rest assured we are all dealing with inflation. I would love to support local businesses but not at the expense of being ripped off.
My friend lives and in kingwood and we both love marble slab. Well, he tried the one in kingwood one day this was without me then told me later he didn't want to go back because it seemed stale. So today we visited this location as we were in the area and decided to give them a chance together and were not impressed. So I walk in and I notice and there is a musty smell but I love marble slab and it's nearby so I'm giving benefit of the doubt but then I see the signs saying "due to covid no samples". The past two weeks I've been to other ice cream shops Handel's and Baskin Robbins who certainly gave samples without an excuse. I get being cheap and saving money but I didn't want to buy potentially funky ice cream and if it was fine you would had repeat customers as we are ice cream fans. furthermore the customer service was non existent as we were not greeted or acknowledged at all.
