I was set up for a Mariner Finance loan through Gaithersburg Heating and Air Conditioning after our HVAC broke and we did not have the cash to fix it. I consistently made online payments for a year on my PC and had absolutely no idea how much interest I was paying until I logged in to my mobile app because their website is so terrible. I was paying a huge amount of interest and it would have taken me 5 YEARS to pay off a $6,000 loan (with about 6,000 in interest payments). None of this was explained to me by Gaithersburg Heating and Air Conditioning. When I went to pay off my principal balance they STILL charged me interest. More specifically, after I payed off the $4,000 principal balance, they refused to waive my $45 interest fee. I would never bank with Mariner Finance again. They prey on uninformed consumers and straight up steal from people.
