This vet is not very educated and I would not feel comfortable leaving my pet in their care. All I needed them to do was a health certificate for my dog, and they were trying to tell me that I needed an international certificate because they said Hawaii is not the 50th state (what??). They were also telling me that they needed to do more than just the health certificate for my dog to fly home with me, which is a lie. I do this 3x a year and I thought I would try this vet because it was cheaper. But i realize now that cheaper is not better. I would recommend central hospital for animals, quality care, and timber trails, but not here.

I brought a stray feral cat in to get him fixed. I spoke with a receptionist to make the appointment and was quoted a cost of 56$ (I believe) for the neuter. While scheduling the appointment, I was asked if I'd also like to give him a rabies shot. I explained that the cat was actually a bit older and had managed to live his life on the streets without contracting rabies thus far and therefore declined. I dropped him off in the morning before work and picked him up after work later that evening. When I went to pay, I was charged 75$ because they decided to give him the rabies shot anyway. I didn't say anything; just paid and left. I've been mad at myself ever since for not saying anything because even though it was just a few extra dollars, it's the principal of the thing. Additionally, they apparently decided to clip his claws without my permission or consent and I was not advised of it when he was discharged. I don't feel right putting him back outside with no claws with which to defend himself so he's been living cramped up in my kitchen until they grow back. It would've been nice to have been given a heads up so that I could have made accommodations to house him for this unexpected longer period of time. All in all, it was easy to drop him off and pick him up and everyone seemed nice but I don't like sneaky charges being added to the bill and I'm annoyed they clipped his claws, his main form of defense since he's actually missing nine teeth, without telling me before doing so (I would've understood if they'd expressed it as necessary prior to doing so because he is feral). 2/5 stars because I would take a feral back to be fixed (my regular vet does not work with ferals) but I will definitely not be paying any additional charges for services I specifically declined. Next time I will say something.

This place is amazing. We were taking our dogs to another vet in another county and decided to switch to Marion Veterinary Clinic; we were not disappointed and certainly do not regret doing so. The staff is friendly, sweet, knowledgeable, and professional. The vet was outstanding. She showed amazing concern and care for our pets and treated them like her own. We were very impressed and will continue taking our pets here for as long as we live in Illinois.

Everyone that works at this place is very friendly and knowledgeable, I’ve never had an issue with anything. The receptionist reads up on charts and has known everything about my pets every time I have come in. I would recommend this vet to everyone.
