My washer went out, and when I went to Marty's to get a new one, he was super friendly, knowledgeable and worked with my schedule to deliver and install it. He knows his stuff and I'm glad I have someone good to call in case something happens again.

I have used Marty's several times in the past and have been very satisfied. But this last occasion has me less than satisfied. First, they completely forgot about and missed our appointment. When I finally got them out there, the tech was not comfortable working on my brand refrigerator (Frigidaire). Seeing the icemaker fan was covered in ice, which I said had been a repeated problem, he used hot air gun to melt ice and the fan started to work. I have done this in the past as well. He said he suspected an air leak but did not feel comfortable disassembling due to the brand. He then told me that since there was a mistake in the appointment and he did not actually fix the problem he was not going to charge me. But he would ask his coworker about the fridge and see if he knew of anything.

The next day I get a call from the technician. The good news: They found there was a service bulletin about a factory defect requiring a gasket. The bad news: suddenly after getting back to the office he has decided to charge me for the service call. "Because the fan was working when I left".  He was willing to in apply the charge if I had it repaired right then. 

But I do not like it when people or companies go back on their word. And this is especially the case when they think fixing a symptom verses fixing the problem qualifies as "fixed". I have recommended several people to them. But I am not sure that I will be using or recommending them in the future.

I called Marty's because they were an authorized dealer for my broken appliance, which was under warranty.  Before any discussion, he told me to push the reset button, which did the trick.  He could have made an appointment, charged a fee to either me or the appliance company, but he only did the right thing.  This experience has shown me that Marty's Appliance is reputable and honest, and I will keep their number handy.
