I came to this place with a laundry list of things I wanted checked out, chief among which was a check engine code I was getting for an EVAP leak. Also wanted them to check my brakes and wheel alignment and such. I get a call from them about an hour later telling me I need brake pads and rotors all the way around, shocks all the way around, upper ball joins, idler arms, links, tires you name it. And they reported that my vent valve solenoid needed replacing to fix the leak. $2100 total of work. I told them there was no way I needed brakes and rotors. I had just gotten them done at a different STS (now mavis) only 10k miles ago. They installed warped brakes on my car. I knew they did. I felt the pulsating driving home from getting the car fixed. I turned around and told them to fix it, the guy told me there was nothing wrong with the brakes, and between work and going to school I had no time to deal with this guy's bullshit. This is why I was taking my business to this Farmingdale mavis when there was one right around the block from me in Bellmore. Anyway, Farmingdale checked their computers and conveniently they could find no record of this. Fortunately I kept the receipt. Though faxing it to them only brought about a set of free brake pads which I knew I didn't need anyway and barely dented the price. So I told them to just take my car off the lift and I'd take my business elsewhere. But at this point they had already begun working on replacing the solenoid and apparently could not be stopped. They charged me $219 for a vent valve solenoid. Do a quick Google search and see how much those cost. $360 job total after labor for a part that I could've bought for $40. I then took my car to a local mechanic to check out all the other stuff I was told I "needed." He told me all I needed was front rotors, idler arms and a wheel alignment. Done for $337. Don't go to a Mavis or STS or any related mechanic for anything. I've been to two and they both lied and tried to suck as much money as possible from me. You cannot trust this company, don't bother trying

How long does it take to mount tires that they have in stock? 5.5 hours and counting...should've told me they didn't have anyone capable of mounting tires in a timely fashion. Good thing I'm not paying for this hourly.
