Simply incredible. First time at the building and it's pretty cool. Nice views of the lake across the street. There's a few other restaurants inside also. Mayday itself is a gem. They were really pleasant and allowed us to try almost all the flavors so we could decide, and that only made it harder. They had a good amount of variety id guess 15 flavors. The main hit was cookie crush, a more cookie-heavy take on cookies and cream. Very good and all 4 of us got a scoop. Additionally I also got a scoop of salted caramel, and it was so so good. Very rich and flavorful, not too overpowering on the salt. The waffle cone was not too thick so it was easy to bite into and chew and it tasted fresh. They also do waffle cone pieces and sprinkles for free. There's a few more paid options for toppings also. There's a good bit of free parking also. Highly recommend.
We tried the coffee and doughnuts flavor. Good coffee taste, but the consistency was off, and the doughnut pieces tasted like fried oil. The waffle cone was pretty good. Service was average.
Cool because it's in the Joinery but the ice cream is wayyyy over-rated. I was thoroughly unimpressed - twice! The salted caramel was so so salty it was inedible and I like salt, the vanilla tastes bland, prices are pretty high and it just wasn't at all worth it to me.Food: 3/5
Some of the most unusual flavors in ice cream right here. The place is a bit hard to find if you are looking for a Mayday sign on the outside. Combined with road construction in the area, it's a bit of a hunt to locate it. It is inside the place called the Joinery, which combines a bunch of different restaurants into one location. Their menu is completely eclectic and will suit almost anybody, I think. I managed to narrow my choice down to a single scoop in a dish. Of course, there are flights, multiple scoops, cones, dishes, floats, etc. The scoops are pretty large, actually and if you get a flight, you are in for six decent sized scoops of whichever choices you prefer. We took ours and sat outside enjoying them while people watching and studying the lake across the way. Both choices in ice cream were mostly good, although the flight included one in particular that was not our favorite. Now if only we could remember which one it was. When you look at the choices, you'll see a lot of flavors. Probably a good idea to remember what it was you got, so you can get it again the next time.
First time visit and WOW WOW WOW!!!! This is located inside The Joinery, which is a food hall across the street from Lake Mirror. They have several flavors to choose from. Some flavors are standards fir Mayday, some are specials fir a short period and others are dairy free. They also have a freezer where you can buy prepackaged pints and gourmet popsicles. Tonight we tried Gillespie’s Bourbon Pecan - butter pecan with a perfectly slight taste of bourbon, Parent Trap - cookies and cream with peanut butter, Mint Monster- Andes Mint, Thin MintGirl Scout and Sessions Chocolate - in between milk and dark chocolate ice cream. You can get ice cream by the cup, waffle cone, pretzel cone, float or Affogato. Staff is nice, friendly and helpful and prices are good. $4.75 fir one scoop, 2 scoops $7, add a cone for $1. This is a high caliber ice cream, not too creamy, perfectly textured. They allow you to sample up to 3 flavors before you make your choice which is super helpful. We will most definitely be back to experience more flavors.
MAYDAY!! MAYDAY!! Check out ‘Mayday Ice Cream’ located at Joinery in Lakeland.. best place to get a cool treat, especially on a hot humid day in Fl. Located inside of a building with different eateries and near a Great Lake to walk around .. they have unique flavors and are creamy .. I chose Gillespie’s Bourbon Pecan Pee-can or Pe-con your choice very smooth and flavorful bourbon flavor not strong and with the crunch of the pecans, it added that texture some look for .. I was able to sample the Key Line Pie flavor and it gave me a quick moment of being in the Keys. They do have seasonal and non - dairy flavors .. Ciara gave great customer service and had a smile through her mask.. indoor/@outdoor eating.. highly recommend to come and enjoy and take a stroll around the peaceful lake . no cash payments ..
I think it was a little expensive, but what isn't these days? They had some great choices, but unfortunately not many of your traditional flavors. Would have liked a basic butter pecan or mint chocolate chip, but definitely good ice cream!
This ice cream is so good my heart yells “MayDay! MayDay!” as it falls into a happy coma! Whether it’s because the store is actually called MayDay or because that’s what is repeated when a plane is crashing, is yet to be figured out. I have to say, I am so picky about ice cream. There aren’t many things I’m picky about- I’m a pretty chill person a casual pun, and I really like to try stuff so I’m open to most things. But when it comes to ice cream I have a very high standard just because of how watered down the market is. Let me tell you- MayDay passes the test time and time again. Aces it, in fact! They have super fun flavors that aren’t at your regular old ‘scream shop. Like coffee & donuts, dirty chai, toasted coconut, and other fun-ly named screams that are also changing up from the mainstream. When you check out with your cold delight, they also offer you the choice of HOUSEMADE SPRINKLES or a little wafer cookie. Yep, that’s right- they make their owns sprinkles and they are fire!! Such an amazing little detail. Fortunately too, you can take home this amazing ice cream in to-go pints and rep a MayDay pin while you walk it. There’s a reason that this place always has a long line when you walk into the Joinery. They the real deal.
Tons of options! You’re allowed to sample only three flavors before ordering. Ice cream is very thick and creamy. Not hard at all. Waffle cones are delicious. They serve Hyppo pops! Girls behind the counter were very friendly! Very cool atmosphere. Industrial, modern design. Spotless.
Great ice cream and friendly staff. I recommend the mint monster flavor!
