Story

McGuire Fine Arts is a full-service fine art and custom framing gallery located in the heart of historic downtown Frederick, Maryland. We have proudly been serving the tri-state area and beyond for over fifteen years. The gallery hosts a range of events including gallery exhibitions featuring internationally acclaimed artists. We also specialize in archival custom framing and unique gift items including fine accessories and jewelry, art glass, sculpture and more.

McGuire Fine Arts Gallery and Framing also features both traditional and contemporary works of art from local and nationally recognized artists including , Cheryl Summers, Dr. Seuss, David McGuire, Mia Stone, Mindeli, Emanuel Mattini, Pezhman, Mick Williams, William Cochran, and more! In addition to art, we offer a large selection of hand-crafted jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, clocks, and unique gifts. Our experienced staff can help with all of your custom framing needs. We specialize in preservation framing and handle each piece with great care and can also handle large corporate jobs.

We have always enjoyed perusing McGuire Fine Arts Gallery when we are in Frederick.  Recently, we had a special piece of art framed at the shop.  David explained the style that would work best with our piece and helped us pick out the framing elements. We couldn't be happier with the final product!  We won't trust anyone else with our framing needs!

Great experience overall with custom framing!  They framed three very delicate fabric pieces from a Thai mountain tribe and did an excellent job.  Would highly recommend McGuire Fine Arts Gallery for both their friendly customer service and outstanding craftsmanship. Support small, local business!

I have visited David McGuire's Art Gallery so many times since I moved to Frederick 4 years ago. I so enjoyed just stopping in and seeing what was new. I never really talked to anyone though, except maybe a hello - no pressure from them, look all you want. Around 2 years ago I fell in love with and bought an old piece of art at Cannon Antiques. Last Fall I moved to a new apartment and knew that I really had to address the falling apart frame before I hung it again. So I stopped in the gallery and actually met David, my fairly large artwork in tow. Long story short, he told me what I had (an engraving) in this old frame, and then helped me choose a new frame and mat. Several weeks later I picked it up; it's so beautiful now. Since then I have taken two watercolors (one at a time!) to him for their FIRST custom framing (one I've had for 41 years) and have plans to take one more from my small personal collection of "not valuable art, just art that I love for various reasons." I never planned on doing more than the first, but every time I brought one home I knew I should just keep going. Every single one is so "right" now, finally framed to bring out its own special beauty -- and done within my budget. David is really good at what he does -- he has a vision when framing that I really enjoyed and learned from. Best of all, he is a really, really nice, down-to-earth person, with a little bit of wit thrown in. If you've never stopped in his gallery, you should, he brings in really interesting art. And, if you can use his services, all the better.

As longtime patrons of Mcguire fine arts we 
appreciate David Mcguire artistic eye in gallery selections and expert framing. Over the years we have purchased several Dr. Seuss paintings as well as sculptures,  pottery,  and jewelry.  Also, David has beautifully framed and reframed many paintings for us including a large unframed
painting we had shipped to him directly from a gallery in Jackson, Wyoming. We happily make the drive from Fairax, Virginia to Frederick,  Maryland to this gallery.
