The prices are at least over 50% off the list prices. Some books can be found for a nickel. There is a large collection of diverse authors and topics. There are DVDs and video games of all types.  The staff is very friendly and willing to assist you in locating your choices.

When you walk in you see aisles and aisles of books. It is too easy to get lost in them, and when you eventually do get lost you end up in rows upon rows of video games and movies. You are trapped by the shockingly low price of everything. Maybe you reminisce over the old N64 game they inexplicably have in stock, or thumb through a book with notes about what its previous owner thought about it.

You then inevitably find your way upstairs, and realize you desperately need to get a record player when you see rows upon rows of vinyl, from the classics complete with the old vinyl smell to new releases still covered in plastic.

After your adventure, you stumble to the checkout line struggling to keep hold of all the tomes and discs you swear you'll get through at some point. Maybe you grab an pop figure on the way out because why not? The cashier scans each thing, and you anticipate a higher number each time - but you end up spending less than half what you thought you would, so you leave McKay's delighted, eager for another journey next time.

You can sell board games, action figures, books, movies, video games - almost any sort of media here. Tech too. And you can buy it all for super cheap.

Having been to the Nashville McKay's number of times, I hate to say that this place doesn't match.  That's not to say it isn't good, because it is.  It's got lots of books, movies, and other things.  It's very good.

But it seems smaller than the Nashville location, and because of that, both the store and the parking lot feel cramped and crowded.  Fewer cashiers meant that the line was longer.

If all I knew was this one, I'd love it.  But I have my Nashville McKay's it, since it' better, this one only gets four stars.

I have been to every McKay’s in TN and they are all amazing. There’s just so much to see.

I call McKay’s my happy place. I love to go there on a bad day. They have tons and tons and tons of movies, books, games, and music. If you’re in Nashville, Knoxville, or Chattanooga, you need to visit McKays. My only criticism is the prices. They lean on the high side of retail, but you can still find a great deal if you look.

You can find something good here and there but 90% is priced to accommodate the McKay bucks or whatever they call it. I guess they think people who have McKay bucks won't mind paying high dollar for used stuff. I sure do. I can get better deals almost any other place I can think of in the Knoxville area and on eBay which may I add includes shipping.
