Everyone to its own opinion, great and fair. What's not fair is to casterize professional members for doing their job, how they do their jobs. Being of customer server myself, it's not easy keeping a smile on your face, 8+ hrs, 5+ days a/wk. Especially with the happy, mad, sad, angry and glad environment these personal work in. Give em a break, I personally like them and think they're doing a great job with our kids. The security of our kids is most important, not our way of thinking things should be ran. We should thank them more, than criticize.

Today is the first day of our child's second year. The school isn't too bad itself. A little unorganized but that happens. The front desk who I didn't get good vibes from last year is still rude and has a terrible attitude for being the first line of office ladies. The dark haired lady in the back of the front of office is super nice. I personally will try to talk over the rude lady to the nice lady just to avoid feeling like I am inferior for no reason. Our daughter does like the school itself and she seems to learn better here than other schools. Here's an update. Our child has a medical condition where she needs to have access at any time to the bathroom. And under regulations students with a medical issue must be excused from school when necessary. Apparently the front desk doesn't feel she is allowed those privelages and that she doesn't have a medical condition. Do we need to share with you her scar across her stomach where they had to put her intestines back into her? Next step school board. This is unacceptable. Lady next time you hang up on us we will trek to the school on foot (since we are snowed in and can't get a vehicle out of our road, since they don't plow low traffic areas). You can't hang up on us if we are in front of you.

This school could be a great school but the leadership is frighteningly bad. One person in the office staff is rude and yells at kids, parents and staff as if she is in charge. She would make a much better prison matron. She doesn't have any certifications so why is she allowed to make any decisions, The principal seems nice enough but doesn't listen to parent concerns about bullying or other issues. The district leadership is weak due to the old boy network that is Yelm. I am glad my children are out of there. Parents beware the Special Education program is a joke!!!

I went there a while ago. I liked it there but I didn't love it. I still miss the music and gym teacher though. They we're my favorite 😀

I don't understand why this school gets good ratings. My experiences at the school have included rude and aggressive staff, avoidance by the principal, unsafe conditions, very overcrowded classrooms and several incidents of bullying. Every week my daughter asks me for money to pay for the schools many promotions and fundraisers which I can not give her as a single working mother on a strict budget. She is teased about her income and her second hand clothes and still the flyers asking for money keep coming home in her backpack. My child complains of being teased constantly which is not nearly as upsetting as her reports that some children kick her and try to bite her and other students without intervention from the staff. This school's staff, in my opinion, are ill-equipped to handle the number of students and poor behavior of the children. Try visiting with the children at lunch. It looks like chow time at McNiel Island.
