Reading these reviews I can see Mclaren has not improved as they proclaim they have. I will not visit this place if it were the last place on earth. The staff is rude and incompetent. Hospital is outdated. If I did not know better I would swear they were practicing in the 19 century still. I was left unattended for 5 hours with no one checking on me. When I finally left the nurse asked if you are so sick why are you leaving. Thank God I had another option and headed to u of m. All I can say at least I have my voice and can advocate for my self. My Glenn who is non verbal was sitting in a chair at the nurses station without any underwear and was unable to go the bathroom. When asked why is was there the nurse said he was getting out of bed but not leaving the room. My brother and I took him back to his room and put underwear on him. Glenn had to get up and use the bathroom. Since they had an alarm on his bed the nurse came back and said this is why we have him at the nurses station. I reply for petes sake is can use the bathroom if needed. It was under my impression they were going to let go all over the floor. As he doesn't speak to let them know he has to use the bathroom. Glenn now is transferred either to midland or Saginaw. Great place if you like being treated like a second class citizen.

My wife just got out of the hospital today after being in there for 4 days. She was on the 5th floor. And I stayed with her the whole time. All the staff and nurses that took care of her were amazing. They went above and beyond for her. And Dr. Igbal is a great doctor. Thank you McLaren Bay Region for what you did for my wife. We will always be greatful.

my boyfriend and I went into tonight as he was not feeling well and had pain in his shoulder. during the check in process the nurse after being told what was going on had asked why he didn't just go home, take medicine, and sleep it off. saying it doesn't sound like anything why did you come here? after being brought back into a room no one came in for 1 1/2-2 hours so we just ended up leaving. this place doesn't care about their patients or even feel the need to check up on them to see if things have gotten any better or worse. wouldn't suggest and will never be going back

I took my husband into the er after he had fainted at home. He had a horrible headache and cough. He was complaining of shoulder and elbow pain. The dr., and I use that term loosely, on duty did an xray to his shoulder and elbow. Also a ct scan to his head. He has had previous stroke, mitralvalve replaced andpacemaker last year. He is also on coumadin. When we asked him about a chest xray he said he was a previous smoker and that was causing the cough. The resident working under him stated his white blood count was slightly elevated. However he continued to say he did have crackles in his lungs and his previous smoking caused it. HE QUIT SMOKING 36 YEARS AGO!!! He is now at home, no better. He has a dr appointment on Wednesday and they will hear this. This "doctor" shoud not have a license! Today is 7-18-2017 My husband is now in Grayling hospial in ICU in critical condition. He was transferred from Urgentcare in Houghton Lake to here on Saturday. Since then I've call Patient Rights and Responsibility twice and no call back.
