I used to go all of the time, but I haven't been here in years. So this was the first time I've been since the remodel/upgrade. Loved the new seats. The food line was long as usual, but moved really quickly. Staff was helpful and accommodated my special order. I was here to see Black Panther so it was packed. Sat all the way in the back of the balcony (you have to sit upstairs if you want your food delivered). Still good seats. Overall, very happy with the experience.

The Baghdad has been a Hawthorne Mainstay since 1923. The McMenamin brothers have preserved beautiful old movie house and its original state. In recent years the theatre has been updated with comfortable chairs, tables and a huge curved movie screen, all while preserving the old feel of the theater and the ability to project film. A full menu is available in balcony service. Or grab your favorite pizza and a cold beer and go sit on the floor level. Up front there is the Baghdad pub with fabulous food and drinks. Out back they have the Backstage Bar with a large screen for sports. A great place to hang out with friends.

I love this place. The atmosphere is amazing, and the care they've taken to bring this gem of a movie house back to her Glory days does not go unnoticed. The presentation is always exceptional. The food is good, the beer and drinks are solid as well. This is a great place catch a flick, and one of my favorites in town.

Cool looking theater, although the first seat I sat in was broken and I nearly fell on the floor. There’s also some railing in the front of the balcony that obstructs the view if you’re sitting in certain seats towards the center. Also don’t be late! Little to no previews and it’s pretty dark in there once the movie starts so it might be harder to find a seat. Screen looked great and the sound system was quite good as well! Might come back to try the bar and some food.

I enjoy visiting the pub. The windows are perfect for people watching on Hawthorne. The atmosphere is cozy, especially at the small bar. Service is pretty good, especially for a McMenamins, and servers are chatty when they're not too busy. Beer is well priced. Food is a bit expensive for pub food. Haven't been to a movie here in more than a decade, so I can't speak to the theater experience.
