Incredibly crowded and loud. The beer is not very good. Glassware not clean, actually nothing is clean here. Service was poor but this is understandable considering the crowd. I suppose it is all about having been there once. Not worth going twice. Not worth waiting in line. Many better places near here to get better beer.

My boyfriend, his brother and I went here during a trip to NYC and had a blast. Just a round of light or dark beer (cash only) no frills. The staff was friendly, impressive and on top of making sure everyone was waited on and comfortable. The walls of this bar are covered with its unique history. I would highly recommend stopping here for a round or 5.

ah, McSorley's. a New York tradition, half-full beers and sleeves of saltines. but you're not going because the beer is fantastic or the place is cheap. it's a slice of old New York, comfortable, cozy, and intimate. you'll sit next to strangers at tables older than anyone in the establishment and see years of experience hanging from the walls in the form of photographs, newspaper clippings, and various other potpourri. the iron stove is warm in the winter but it doesn't get hot in the summer either. go and have a good time as 150 years worth of people have. just remember to bring cash.

This a neat place to visit. Lots of history, most of which can be seen on the walls or decor. I'm glad I was able to check this off as places I've visited. You can only order beer (or soda) and I'm pretty sure they come in pairs, but the mugs are small and the beer usually has a pretty good head.

Great, authentically old looking place with nice beer and excellent prices. Cash only, and the bathroom floors were so wet it was a hazard. Service is great, place is great for sitting in with a few more private tables.
