In 2015 I went to Meditresse for a consultation on my hair loss. My hair was very thin on the top of my head, you could see through it to the point of getting sunburned on my scalp. I could no longer wear bangs because that part of my hair was thinning so much. My thinning had started in my late thirties and became excessive when I was 56. I had a great deal of stress in my life at that time and I'm sure that was the cause of some if not most of the hair loss. The nurse that went over the procedures with me was very informative and personable (I never saw a doctor) we went over causes and treatments.  I thought the cost was high ($3600) and it doesn't come with a guarantee. About 6 months later I recieved a discounted offer for the PRP Treatment and decided to do it.
My first treatment was in April of 2016. The treatment itself doesn't hurt. Blood is taken from your arm, the vial is put into a centrifuge to seperate the red from the white cells. Your scalp is numbed first which does have a little pinch to it. Then the plasma is injected and you don't feel that at all. The whole procedure takes about 12-20 minutes.
My 6 month follow up did not show any significant change at all. They took pictures and looked at it under a microscope and there was very minimal change. I didn't notice any difference in texture or thickness. I thought maybe there had been less shedding. The nurse said that I may benefit from a booster injection (you have to pay $800) but to wait and see at the year mark. The nurse that I saw in April felt there was significant improvement, I wouldn't go that far. There is improvement in the thickness of my hair and there has been some regrowth but, not in the middle where I first began to notice the loss. I have not had any major stress in my life for a year so that could be a contributing factor as well.
One thing that I was not told in my intial visit but learned later at another hair loss center is that PRP will not regrow hair from dead follicles. It will only thicken and strenghten the hair that you have.  Medi Tress did not tell me that so I don't how true it is or what their stance on that is.  
Overall I am happy with my hair. It's not as full as it used to be and my scalp doesn't burn in the sun. PRP or reduced stress or both?  Maybe they should do 4 injections to solidify the effects of the treatment. It's worth checking into. They should also go back to free consultations instead of the $100 fee.
