Came here with my gf & her family. There was an insane amount of items available, and I was overwhelmed. It was confusing to order and find someone to help us take orders. Once we had ordered, our dishes came out at different times... some of us finished eating before the others were even served. We had to remind the staff of our orders by showing them our receipt. if it were busy, I would be more understanding... But they weren't. i get that mistakes happen, but it was still an overall unsatisfactory experience.
There was a long wait for a to go order but it was worth the wait as it was excellent. Overwhelming amount of choices. Wish the allergy info for sides was included in the online ordering, so I included some photos of the many sides to choose from. I would recommend ordering online for carry out orders.Food: 5/5
Chicken Kabab platter, Gyros, hummus, free toppings bar with olives, what more can you ask for? recently prices have increased, but still a ton of food for your money. Must try in Chapel hill if you like mediterranean food.
I loved this place! It didn’t come up on google when I did my vegan search of the area - but luckily I walked by. First of all - packed and busy all the time good sign! Secondly - loads of vegan / vege / gf items! Thirdly - fast service , nice staff and SUPER TASTY food! Loved it - GO!
The food was pretty good. I got the falafel platter with Greek salad, tzatziki sauce, and a pita. I’m not sure what the brown sauce that came with the platter was, maybe tahini?, but I didn’t enjoy it. Wasn’t an issue since I had the other sauce. Overall, this wasn’t the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had, but I would definitely recommend and order again. Also, it was a little pricey.
Definitely a spot you need to check out. The place is always clean and presentable. The owner is absolutely fantastic. Great family owned business. And the food is top notch. Wonderful place, check it out they definitely deserve your time. Always a pleasure when going here.Food: 5/5
Came here at the recommendation of a good friend who is a Chapel Hill native. Blown away by the quality and prices. Must-visit if you're in town.
I think Med Deli is really overrated. The falafel is truly terrible - always overdone on the outside and underdone on the inside. It's dry and overly dense and really just some of the worst falafel I've ever had and that's saying something. The tahini sauce is thin and watery and barely tastes of sesame. The hummus has a weird airy/frothy texture, like they put baking soda in it or something. I don't find the veggies all that fresh, especially the tomatoes and cucumbers, which tend to be soft - probably because they are drowning in a bath of dressing/juices see photo. Recently I tried the carrot salad, which was recommended by a friend, and the curried orzo salad. I really did not like either of them. They both had a weird tangy taste that reminded me of Miracle Whip or something - especially the carrot salad. The last several times I've eaten here I've ended up throwing most of my meal away. I really want to like this local favorite, and I hear the owners are lovely, but I just don't think the food is good. Maybe it's better for meat eaters.
Decided on a Mediterranean lunch today & found this place while touring Chapel Hill. Endless choices from the deli with great portion size & prices. You can actually see the food behind the glass counter instead of just guessing from the menu. The gyro was big & very flavorful. Very friendly service. Watching the pita bread being made was an added bonus. The market next door was cool to look through, too. Wish we had one of these back home!
Really amazing Mediterranean food. The options are endless. However the portions are huge. Really love their desserts selection too.
