Members 1st provided a great auto loan interest rate for me. However, the online experience is poor. The website always tells me that my loan is past due when it has already been paid days before the due date. I understand that there is a lag between payment and the transaction posting. Considering that, I recommend finding a clearer way to communicate regarding "late payments", particularly when automatic payments have already been set up.

Members WORST. FYI, I'm only giving it a 1 star rating because giving it 0 is not an option. I was a member for years, from back when they used to be DAFCU in the '90s. In the 2000s, they started expanding, and got to be too big for their britches. They are a very xenophobic, racist, small-minded company, much like the people in their local area that they service. I had many disputes with them over the last several years of my living in that awful area, but finally I closed my account, with glee, a few years back. After having to get the branch manager in Carlisle do the actual transaction of shutting my account, the CEO himself called me, and tried to get me to come back, but I politely told him where to go, and how to get there...and the arrogant little oompa loompa hung up on me. Real professional. There are much better credit unions in the Harrisburg/Carlisle area, don't be a CHUMP and join this shady one.

I have been with Members 1st for a good amount of yrs. I have had 2 car loans now with them an a long standing credit card. So you would think with my long good track record with them would have ment something but it means absolutely nothing. I do extraly scheduled tranfers for my credit cards and car loans meaning I was never behind on payments and I always paid more than the minimum payment. So when I forgot I used my credit card after a year of having it paid off and not having to make payments on it i missed my first payment in over 5 yrs maybe more. So what does the bank do they stop my external automatic payment for my car payment so that didnt get paid on time because of this bank. I could not reinstate my external tranfer until my credit card was taken care of. I tried to deposit a check into my checking account to pay both the credit card an car payment and they took my debit car and count not process my transaction. So now they have prevented me from paying again! How is this keeping the member 1st? Its just bad business if you ask me. I think its absolutely absurd that you are going to block all attempts for me to make FULL payments on my accounts. I had to go into a branch office today which the lady was very nice and very understanding she fixed me up even though I could have on my own and on my own time but was denied by this bank. Needless to say once all payments are posted and cleared my buisness with them will come to an end. This is not how you treat good stand customers. I work evening and night shift and weekend sorry we dont all have the luxury of a 9 to 5 and being able to be available when you are hench why I do online banking because my hours dont even come close to your hours.

The credit union is mostly ok. They would not allow me to close my account without walking in or sending snail mail. Calling them on the phone was not enough.
