After I retired from a career in public safety, I started working for Mental Health America as a Mental Health First Aid instructor. From there I've moved to the role of Community Outreach Coordinator. This is a small, but mighty team of passionate people doing wonderful work for the community. From the work in peer support, to the education and wellness programs, to the safety net services that help those in recovery, there are a number of ways they are supporting communities in northern Kentucky and southwest Ohio. As I write this review, the organization is working diligently to support frontline health and public safety workers with wellness programs, including coaching and education. MHA continues to show growth and an increased passion to promote mental health while working to prevent mental and substance use disorders through education, advocacy, and service. For those in Ohio, be sure to visit their new Blue Ash location at 11238 Cornell Park Drive.
MHA is a great place to work. I have been working for the agency for almost 2 years and I have seen so much growth. We have dynamic leadership and staff who are empathetic and compassionate. We are going through a tremendous amount of growth right now and we're becoming destination number one for people. I couldn't see myself working any place else.
I have worked as a peer for MHA for almost 3 years and I can honestly say I have never found an employer more supportive, guidance oriented , inspirational or loving from a place that truly wants me to see me succeed. I have been looked down upon because of my MH/SUD for many years but I finally found a group of people and a place to call home! 5 stars are not enough to recommend a place to finally belong or fit in than MHA! Thank you for your support and belief that we do recover!
Working for this agency has been so amazing! All of the staff are supportive, passionate and truly stand by the core values of MHA. I am excited to embark on this new journey and optimistic about my future here at MHA!
I’ve been working at MHA NKY SWOH for five years now, and I’ve never felt more supported- personally and professionally. This place is fueled by passion and hope and is always adapting to serve consumers with best practices and trauma informed care.
MHA is a great place to work! We have dedicated staff and take care of our communities needs!!
It's one of the worst places for mental health assistance & when you ask for information to file a complaint they call law enforcement on you & set you up for failure...it's like "living in the dark ages"
