I had my annual mammogram scheduled for 9:00 am on April 2nd. Now if I missed somewhere in the directions to be at the office a specific time before my appt time then please disregard. I called the Georgetown office number at precisely 8:57 am from the parking lot to ask Covid protocol for entering the building as I am in the healthcare field and respect the fact that protocols exist for a reason. A copy of the phone record can be provided for documentation of the call time The office assistant, Lisa, answered the phone and told me to come on in and just have my mask on. I entered the building at precisely 8:59 am and sat in the waiting area as she was preparing another patient. Upon finishing the patient she asked me to enter the check in booth which I did. When she came around to her seat she informed me I was late as I had called AFTER my 9:00 an appt time and if she didn’t get me checked in within 10 minutes of my appt time I would have to reschedule. I get that...#1 IF I HAD BEEN LATE! and #2 IF THEY HAD BEEN EXTREMELY BUSY! Why argue with someone who clearly thinks she’s right which will get me nowhere but probably further attitude? There was not one other person in the waiting area. Not one. Another lady came in about 3-4 minutes after my check in was complete. Now if it wasn’t enough that the front office personnel called me out for being late when I wasn’t, the clinician that performed my exam informed me after I walked in the exam room that she had to go tell her next patient she was running late. Seriously? Now I’m in healthcare as a home health physical therapist assistant and completely understand keeping to a schedule BUT I was not late unless I missed the part of instructions that told me arrive a specific amount of minutes prior to my appointment. When I came out of my exam there was still one person waiting and that was the one who was being checked in when I was taken back. I was made to feel like I did something wrong and messed up their entire day which to me is very inappropriate UNLESS I was supposed to be there BEFORE my actual appointment time.
Horrifyingly awful experience. A covid test the decided to label as a doctors visit to scam people into paying $75. No budging from their billing department. I will not only never visit a baptist health again, but I will drag their name through the dirt. Money is more important than anything to them.
