My mother was a patient for over 10 years.We followed the practice through their address change because we loved Dr. Haight. When Dr. Haight retired, her care went to Dr. Stempky. My mother felt taken care of by Dr. Stempky's care and had no complaints with him or the practice until she had the courtesy of being scheduled with Ali Dunn, NP. Background on this situation, my mother went into a med-center for a sinus infection and was put on antibiotics and when these did not work she made an appointment with Dr. Stempky who put her on some of the "highest" antibiotics and was told to follow-up that following Monday. She followed up and was scheduled with Ms. Dunn, as my mother's symptoms had gotten worse . My mother met with Ms. Dunn only to be told that there is no way that her symptoms could have gotten worse and to finish the antibiotics. My mother was almost in tears leaving the office that day due to the pressure and that she had to miss work and come in for an impromptu appointment to be told it was in her head. It's not like she was asking for pain pills or has a history of hypochondriasis. Personally, I'm concerned that some how Ms. Dunn passed her clinical rotations with her bedside manner. Fast forward to the end of the antibiotics, my mother did not feel better and suffered for two months because she refused to go back to the practice just be treated poorly. My mother finally scheduled an appointment with an ENT after having the symptoms for almost three months. The doctor took a culture, scheduled a CT, prescribed antibiotics according to the results of the in-house culture and most importantly did not make her feel like a head case.
