I went In with a stomache bug, I was a bit dehydrated, and the ER Doctor thought I should spend the night and get a IV, I am a teenager, so, "technically" a minor child (This will tie In later), So, when I found this out, I was sort of overwhelmed, and wanted to talk In private with my parents, But the ER Doctor "wouldn't allow me to do that", And When my mother requested If possibly we could go elsewhere, or come back In the morning, She was told, "If you leave this room we have the right to call social services", Right In front of me, and my whole family, SO demeaning, and my whole family were treated like stupid toddlers when we asked questions, anyways, Now, I had requested a numbing cream for both my blood draw, and IV, But was turned down, as, "none was available", but once I was In my room on the upper level, I was told by the nurse up there they had gotten a new stock In just a few days ago???!!!! (Don't judge, but I do have a fear of needles, So I was enraged when I found this out), overall, Again, demeaning, rude, This Incident happened awhile ago, But I've gotten better service at Unity Point (Just saying)

Previous hospital stays have been above satisfactory. However, I was admitted from ER on November 24, Thursday, thru November 29, Wednesday, 2018, to Room 6202 for bronchitis. 24 hours from dismissal, I felt I was treated with disregard due to pending dismissal. Rude staff, disregard for continued treatment, waited 5 hours to have my 5th blown IV removed, several hours passed of being checked on as to status or needs. It was like: "Get your ass up. And get out of here all ready". Needless to say, two days have passed. And I'm still upset. Call me a snow flake. My accolades however to outstanding nurse "Tyler" who consistently days and nights (5) went wayyy above and beyond the call of duty. He was my salvation. Thank you, dear Tyler!

VERY UNHAPPY! My Mom went in a little over a week ago. For 8 full days my sister and/or I stayed in the hospital (even overnights) with her. On day 5 my sister asked if we could speak with a social worker because someday we expect to take her home or to a long term facility and we wanted to know what her options are. She told us not to worry about it, she is going to be here a while, and we would talk about it later. Two days ago the oncologist stated that she would be in the hospital at least another week. We both work...today is the first day that neither of us is there to talk to them in person and I get a phone call from a social worker saying that she needs to go somewhere else and she wants me to decide right then what we are going to do. This is a bunch of crap! We live 1 1/2 and 3 hours away so running over there isn't possible. Why couldn't they have taken the time to talk to us when we were there asking for help?????!!

The PA that saw me in the ER was rude and unethical and the wait is unreasonable! I was treated with no compassion and insignificant. It was almost like she thought my injuries were not serious enough to seek medical attention and she thought I was seeking pain meds! I did not ask for anything, nor did I want anything! I fell down a flight of stairs and she didn't even want to do x-rays! I will never put me or my loved ones under care of their staff again!
