Terrific doctor. He listened to me and diagnosed my very unusual disorder. He is intelligent and personable. I would recommend him to anyone.

If you like a doctor that comes in for five minutes, does not give you an opportunity to ask questions which are important to you, or maybe you have been worrying about, or if you just want an honest answer, you should go to someone else. After he left me in the examining room one time, he went out to the nurses’ station and talked about me, actually laughed about my possibly wanting an antibiotic. How unprofessional! I lost respect for him that day. Also, one time I was in such pain that I went to see him, but he was not available. The receptionist asked me if I wanted to see someone else and I said yes. I was prescribed some pain medication, only to find out later that Dr. Joyce reprimanded this other doctor. My mother had been going to him for many years. She was sick for a year and unable to find out why. Dr. Joyce, after seeing her many times during this year, could not diagnose her. I took her to the hospital where she was told within 1/2 hour that she had stage four lung cancer. She died one month later to the day. I found out that she had cancer in every bone of her body except for her head. Imagine her suffering! He advised me against taking her home to my house to be with her and take care of her while she was dying, yet I did anyway. Hospice was so wonderful and they gave her the greatest support I could have ever imagined. Every single one of them came to her funeral. I believe every healthcare provider that had ever taken care of her came to her funeral. Guess who did not? I realize that all doctors are not able to take time from their busy day to go to a patient’s funeral; however, it would have been nice to have received a call or a card. It is difficult to find a good doctor, one that cares about you and listens to you, but I do believe they are out there. I found one.
