Initially, things were slow and everything seemed to take forever. I was timely in presenting our needs but the responses were not as steadfast as I first hoped. The first impressions weren't too good from either side, but I can't say it was for a lack of trying. A parent who is proactive, communicative, persistent and in your face gets better results. 
The schools can't be expected to do everything. Parents must put in effort. I knew that going into it.  Now that we all know each other, I'd say my impressions have changed and things are smooth and steady, as I had hoped all along. They gave me assurances and asked me to remain patient in their processes. I followed along with their suggestions and I made sure things weren't forgotten. It's a two way street. 
I'm a happy parent.
My only suggestion to this district is to petition for speed zones with flashing lights and the whole 9 yards. School busses are in danger of being struck by traffic at every given moment at the elementary school.
Just as parents cannot rely on schools to do everything alone, the school district cannot rely on motorists to drive with caution near our elementary school unless traffic laws are changed and enforced in this section.
You all don't want me on he PTA, I like results too much!!
 So take my word of the severe safety hazards, regarding school busses and heavy dangerous oncoming head-on traffic, in the elementary school zone seriously.
Heed my warning because it's easy to see the danger.
