I have to wonder: am I to review the Transfer Station as a facility for the disposal of refuse, relative to other such facilities, or as an overall human experience? Not a terribly vexing question, as I expect the former to be true. So, as a place to take things that you no longer want, it's pretty good. I mean: I go in with a load of things I don't want, and when I leave I no longer have those things. So on that level it's all good. You do have to pay to leave your stuff, though, and it's kinda a lot. They use a system of magic incantations and necromancy to determine how much you owe. It's damned odd, actually. All the employees are practitioners of the "dark arts," it seems. I don't know what they do with the garbage, after it's left. I'm curious. Do they feed it to their dragons? Probably they do. Last time I was there a siren went off. Very load and it was all "get out! Get out!" I assumed a dragon got loose. The fire department came out (did the dragon burn something?) and I thought to myself "oh great. Now I'll never get rid of all these dead Hobbits." But they cleared the alarm in no time and we were all able to head right back in to continue. So I have to give them kudos on dragon wrangling skills. I'll continue to attend this facility when I have more things that I don't want.

I went there a couple times this week and it was a good experience. The workers are cool and friendly and there's enough room in there to easily back up a trailer. Ive been to some places that are really tight and had mean people working there. I'll definitely be back if Ill be working close by and need to dump some construction junk. I really like the whole hwy30 business zone. It's fun to just drive around there and explore haha

This place is a ripoff. Over charge to dump. Almost 200 to dump dirt when most other places only charge 50. Don't waste money going here.

Metro Central Hazardous Waste is NOT, I repeat NOT the transfer station as all the pictures and alot of the reviews would have you believe. Metro Central Hazardous Waste is the part of the facility that is straight ahead and is where you drop off your paint, chemicals, pesticides, oil, gas, batteries, and anything else that should not go in the landfill. When you pull into the hazardous waste section you do not need to leave your car, your paint is the same as everyone elses paint. The hazardous waste technicians and specialists see this every day of the year other than Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are dressed appropriately and respond very professionally. This is a free service to the public, commercial waste must be paid for.
