I went there for my birthday last night and it was a great experience since the moment we walked through the door. The decor and ambiance was amazing. Jessica was our waitress and she was phenomenal. The drinks were delicious and well mixed. The food was very well seasoned and fresh. We tasted each others food and everything was delicious. I recommend the crab cake and the crab imperial. It is the best flavor wise that I’ve had in Baltimore. The coleslaw was delightful and not too sweet. We are already planning to go back next week as this is in my opinion a top 3 restaurant in Baltimore.
If you are considering coming to eat here, just do it. On my way to the airport I had a long layover so I wanted to eat somewhere with outdoor seating and found Michael’s, best decision I made. From my drinks, to my soup, to my entree everything was superb. My server was super gracious and responsive. I started with a soup that was out of this world, it was the crab and cream. Then I had the shrimp and grits and the shrimp were perfectly plump and juicy. By the time I finished my meal, I was ready to fall asleep on the airplane. The restaurant itself is very very nice on the inside and a great place to have a first date or celebrate a special occasion with brunch. Next time I’m passing through, I’ll be sure to stop again!
I have to say, I was very pleased with the range of food and level of service. The team here clearly keeps things going all night as in the span of an 90 minutes I swear I saw Bailey bang out 120 or so drinks not to mention the rest of the bar staff making nearly as many. Bobby took great care of us and recommended the Peruvian Chicken for me and adding Salmon for my sisters salad. The deviled eggs with crab was awesome and the brookie was a great ending and glad I went with a dessert. Definitely will be back to try more. I recommend being at the bar and getting some great one liners in with the staff.
I visited this location a few weeks ago. Environment: The restaurant was nice and clean. It was a bit crowded but, there was enough space between the tables and chairs. The bathroom was amazing - I loved the quality paper towels that they have! Customer Service: The waitress was nice and attentive. She would check on us periodically and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Food: The food was delicious! I ordered blackened salmon and oysters while my boyfriend got the chicken francaise. We both loved our food - it was good for amount and I had a bit of leftovers the next day. Overall, it was a good experience. I definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area and looking for delicious food in a nice environment.
Great time!! Great food at Michael's Cafe!! Our waiter Pedro provided exceptional service. I had the great dip with garlic bread!! Excellent! My main entree was the seafood club and truffle fries. The sandwich was filled with chunks of seafood. Great taste!! The fries could use some work. They were lukewarm, a little greasy with parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. I love the decor with pics of athletes from the Maryland teams. I would visit again. Parking: There was plenty of parking during the time of my visit, late afternoon on a Friday.
Food was good and my waiter was too but it can be very expensive depending on what you order. I give them a 3 star because of the noise of customers and serving size of my one order. Make sure you ask about portion size on some items if you have a big appetite you don't want to be disappointed in the serving size as I was with the $16 Calamari as advertised in my photos below. I asked my waiter to ask the chef if I can have more and the chef said no because it's weighed. That's not 4 to 5 star customer service answer to me pleasing the customer when they are disappointed should be the main concern. I usually like the atmosphere of this restaurant but yesterday it was very loud and disruptive customer's sitting at the bar. This restaurant is known for the atmosphere food and service. Kids and families come here as well so management should be very attentive to addressing loud customers using profanity and acting unruly before it brings the resturant ratings down. This is a resturant not a football stadium or outdoor family cookout!!!
Great food. BACON SAMPLER APPETIZER !!! Also had chicken salad, shrimp cocktail and Caesar salad. All were very good. Good portions. Waitress Chastity was the best. Great experience all around.Recommended dishesCream of Crab Soup
Con: We we’re seated at a table and noticed a bug on the plate. Pro: Food tasted amazing. The manager Josh was apologetic about the inconvenience and offered to comp a bacon sampler, which tasted great. Biscuits and Gravy tasted amazing! Overall, a pleasurable experience and worth a try
Very upbeat and trendy. Wait staff Darren was awesome. Friendly and attentive but not over the top annoying with it. We were a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their food. I got the Rockfish Nicholas and it was absolutely delicious! Definitely a place to go, we enjoyed it.
When on a Saturday Night. Was able to get in despite the lack of reversations. Was seated quickly. Service was good and very attentive. Purchased special of the night. Lobster, one of my favorites. Was unable to determine whether or not it was frozen or fresh. It was a little chewy but not to excess. The wife got stuffed shrimp. I tried it, it was very good and the imperial sauce was just right. Even though we were filled by the meal we opted for the apple cobbler AL la mode. The ice-cream and the apples were good but the crunchy topping reminded me of broken oatmeal cookies. I would not recommend getting this. It is not what you are use to. Overall a very good dining experance.
