I will start with the end. I was able to get a key for the piece of antique furniture that my sister brought in to the Colleyville location. I am happy that we were able to come to that end-game. I was not impressed with what it took to accomplish this. I was from out of town, picking up a piece of furniture from her that belonged to our parents. She took it in to the location 11 days before I was supposed to pick it up with the goal that a key would be made before I had to turn around and head home a few days later. It was estimated to take 3-4 days to complete. With a few times of my sister calling to check in on the status, by the time I arrived 11 days later, the key was not made. With a phone call, where I had to express my dismay that this was not completed yet, it was arranged for an 'field technician' to come by to complete the work. That was completed within 3 hours of my irate phone call. Until I expressed my disappointment, this was not resolved. It was expressed, when we finally picked up the key for this large piece of furniture, that it has been worked on for 2 days by one field technician, only to be resolved for that piece by another. Unfortunately, the key only worked on 2 of the 5 locks on this piece of furniture. Which is by far NOT the locksmith's fault. However, if the key had been made within the 3-4 days as specified, then that would have been found out prior to my arrival, and having to escalate the completion to a manager. When I showed up the following day with all of the components of the piece of furniture, that being my departure date, traveling 1600 miles, I waited until the field technician was available to complete the key for all the locks in the piece. In the end, the first technician took a crack at it around 5 hours after I arrived at the location, and was able to augment the key so that it successfully worked on all components of this family heirloom. They did offer to refund my money for the key, but that would have left me without a way to assembled this locked piece of furniture at it's final destination. In the end, I have a working key for it, but was not impressed with the pressure that was necessary to get to that point. More communication on the part of the shop would have assuaged the concerns of my sister and I during this process. Making our piece a priority to be completed, in the timeline that was originally specified, would have made both my sister and I true believers and customers for future needs. So this was not a total failure as a one star, but I can't say I was 100% satisfied either. Hence the 3-star review.

Great place. Every other company quoted me at the start for $120 to rekey an old truck for me then when their "techs" called it went up to $275 or more. They gave me a price over the phone when I gave the year make and model and that's what I paid. I can't remember the guy that rekeyed my truck but he was great real fast and very polite. If the owners read these I'm speaking of the guy that helped us with the 97 k1500. Great place.

I moved into a home and could not get in through the front door as the bolt was jammed. No key or muscle power was going to get that door open. To make matters worse, we had PODS and Pack and Load service men coming to help us unload. Going through the garage was doable, but not ideal as there is a turn and a smaller opening than coming straight through the front door. I called Michael's Keys and immediately the young lady who answered my call (I wish I had her name - so nice and helpful!) was on it! She said someone would be my way in within and hour -- but 20 minutes later Julian showed up and started fixing the problem right away!! Thank you so much Michael's keys employees!! You rock! I will refer people to you!!

Just purchased a used van to use as a delivery vehicle for my new career at the USPS as a Rural Carrier with only one key and no fobs. Everything (Google, experts, common sense) indicated that the 2002 model van key had an embedded chip, which we all know, typically costs a fortune to have duplicated. A fellow member of my recent USPS Academy class has owned a local used car dealership for years and highly recommended a locksmith business in downtown Fort Worth that could do it for $65 a pop, which is about 1/2 less than what I found to be typical (a place in Southlake "quoted me" a minimum of $100 to "identify" the key and then something to the affect of "starting at" $65 per key). Ouch! When Googling the directions for the place in Fort Worth, I noticed there was a "Michael's Keys" location right here in Keller less than 4 miles away and figured it was worth seeing what they would charge. So, I walked in yesterday with a sinking heart because the shop is very nice, clean and impressive which probably meant expensive, lol! I told the lady that I needed two duplicates if I could afford it. She took my key and went to a nearby workstation to examine. As she was doing so, I told her that I was told that it had one of those immobilizer chips in it. She replied, "This one doesn't." Without another word, she quickly got two appropriate blanks and whipped them out on the key cutting machine. After a total of about 5 minutes time, she said, "That'll be $6.95". You can only imagine my relief and gladness. I told her that "my birthday was yesterday, but it feels like today"! Call me cynical, but I have a feeling that things wouldn't have went down the same at many other places under the same circumstances when I was already prepared to pay hundreds more and the vendor knew it. In any case, I'll be a life long customer of Michael's Keys of Keller, TX as long as they are in business, which I think will be a very long time indeed.
